Patent for a new and improved calf weaner. This design consists in "a strap, ring, or belt surrounding the muzzle of the calf or other animal, and attached permanently by means of head-stall straps or other suitable-devices, the muzzle-ring being provided with radiating blunt-pointed wires of suitable length, whereby the calf is prevented from reaching the teat, and the mother, being irritated or titillated by the projecting wires, repulses the attempts of the animal to suckle" (lines 18-27).

Patent for a new and improved car-axle box. This design consists "[i]n an axle-box, the combination, with the box having the wedge-shaped projections and slots, of the cover having pins and wedge-shaped recesses formed between said pins and the top of the lid, whereby the gravity of the cover will wedge it to the box when the pins are without a bearing" (lines 52-58).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design "relates to car-couplings, and it has for its object to provide a device of this character which shall be automatic in its action, simple in its construction, positive and effective in operation, and one that will be strong and durable. A further object of the invention is to provide improved means for supporting the link in a horizontal position, so that it will engage the draw-head of the adjacent car. The invention consists in the improved construction and combination of parts" (lines 10-21).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the draw-head having the downwardly and forwardly inclined floor and the floor slot or opening, of the coupling-bar having a curved or angular lever secured to its rear end and extending first downward through said opening and then under the draw-head" (lines 82-88).

Patent for a combined dish-washing machine and churn, with illustration and description of parts.

Patent for a new and improved cultivator. This design "consists of a double plow-stock strapped to the beam, having a diamond-shaped point bolted thereto at the lower end, an inclined brace bolted to the beam and stock, and a sweep-stock attached by straps to the beam and brace" (lines 7-15).

Patent for a new and improved fire-place heater. This design "is to provide an inexpensive fire-place heater, constructed so that it may heat two or more rooms on the same floor of a building, and with a single fire, so as to economize fuel and labor of attendance" (lines 7-11).

Patent for a new and improved flour and meal bin. This design "is to provide a flour and meal bin for family purposes, especially where it is found desirable to economize space and have the bin conveniently at hand ready to have the desired quantity of flour or meal taken from it in a sifted condition" (lines 9-15).

Patent for a new and improved life boat. This design consists "[i]n a life-boat, the combination of a hull having the portion of its sides above the water-line overhanging and concave and having the portion of its sides below the water-line convex, with air-chambers having their inner walls curved corresponding to the curves of the upper portion of the sides and converging into the sides at their lower edges, the said chambers increasing in capacity toward the upper edges of the sides of the hull" (lines 22-31).

Patent for a new and improved lock. This design "is to produce a lock and key in which the lock-case has no exterior opening communicating with its wards or works, but is provided with a recess only for supporting the shank or axis of the key, while the only opening for the admission of the key to the interior of the lock, whereby its wards or bolt may be operated or controlled, is upon the interior of the lock-case, so that there is no possibility of introducing . . . picking devices therein, or of introducing any explosive agents" (lines 15-27).

Patent for "new and Improved Odometer, of which is a full, clear, and exact description."(lines 4-6) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved oil-expressing box. In this design, "the follower is adapted to fit the box, so as to obviate the need of any joint-closing device, and the face of the follower at its side edges is raised to better confine the bag in place, and at its center or central portion is channeled and provided with a false bottom to provide for the escape of the oil" (lines 24-31).

Patent for a machine which shapes boxes for packaging extracted oils, with description of parts and illustrations.

Patent for new and improved overalls and pants. This design "consists in a garment cut in four pieces of peculiar form united in a peculiar manner, whereby the seat and crotch and the inner sides of the legs are made of double thickness and the leg and crotch both rendered seamless, in order that they may be worn without the discomfort attending the use of garments in which heavy seams or welts exist in the middle" (lines 10-18).

Patent for a new and improved plaiting machine. This design consists in "[t]he combination, of a plaiting apparatus, of a fixed transverse bar, a second transverse bar adapted to be adjusted relative thereto, and means for securing the said adjustment, each of said bars being provided with a transverse metallic strip bent to form inclined ribs" (lines 98-103).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a plowshare, of cutting-knives secured to the rear end thereof and extending rearwardly therefrom in an upward direction, and a bar connecting the mold-board and landside and arranged below the cutting knives" (lines 68-73).

Patent for invention new and useful improvement in Plows, relates the shape of the mold-board and the manner of securing the point and land side to the standard [5-15].

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the plow-body having slots formed with an enlargement at their forward ends near the lower edge of the mold-board, and having a laterally-projecting lug upon the landside near the point, of a detachable share and point having inwardly-projecting headed studs for engaging the slots in the mold-board, and having a perforated landside flange fitting upon the lug at the landside of the body" (lines 64-73).

Patent for a new and improved pouch. This design "is to provide for the use of ladies and others a sheet-metal pocket lined with soft material and provided with a pin by means of which it may be secured to the garments" (lines 7-11).

Patent for a new and improved rope clamp. This design "is intended to be used in place of selvagee-straps in any and all places where such straps can be used, and also for use on purchases in setting up rigging in place of cats'-paws; also in joining two ends of a rope together in place of splicing, or in any situation where it is desired to clamp or hold ropes" (lines 7-14).

Patent for a new and improved sash-holder. This design "relates to improvements in window-sash supporters, the object being to provide a combined lock and support for sashes, either when closed or open, which shall be cheap and simple in construction, effective in operation, and strong and durable" (lines 8-13).

Patent for improvements in steam engine, particularly the cylinder.

Patent for a new and improved stirrup. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the upper tubular cross-tie, of the stirrup in open-communication through the sides of the latter and serving for attachment of the stirrup strap, of the fender and the cord, arranged to unite the upper portion of the fender to the stirrup" (lines 76-81).

Patent for a new and improved joint for stove pipes. This design has for its object "to secure a firm and safe connection between the sections of pipe, and at the same time to protect the joint so that the pipe is not liable to crack or split at that point. [The] invention consists in combining with the threaded sections of a stove-pipe, a cap or band secured to one of the sections and overlapping the other, so as to inclose and protect the joint" (lines 9-17).
