From abstract: This is a review, with annotated bibliography, of the mode of occurrence of the element beryllium. It is not a list of specific ore deposits, but a summary of the types of the types of minerals and rocks in which beryllium has been reported to occur. In addition, the unpublished spectrographic studies of the Geological Survey on mill products are summarized, and data are given on domestic production and reserves and on foreign production.

From abstract: In 1948, 7,662 miles of roadside rocks and soils in Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and southeastern New York were traversed with a car-mounted Geiger-Mueller counter. The observed distribution of the abnormally radioactive rocks and soils is limited to certain areas, herein called "radioactive provinces," that are separated from each other by areas of essentially nonradioactive rock.

Uranium-Bearing Deposits West of Clancey, Jefferson County, Montana

From abstract: Nine uranium deposits occur in a small area west of Clancey, Jefferson County, Mont. These deposits are all in or near silicified fracture zones in quartz monzonite and related rocks of the Boulder batholith. The deposits contain pockets of uranium minerals in cavities in brecciated well-silicified rock. The primary uranium mineral pitchblende has been found in one pod. Secondary uranium minerals occur as fracture linings and in pore spaces in and adjacent to the silicified zones.

Distribution and Origin of Phosphate in the Land-Pebble Phosphate District of Florida

From abstract: The land-pebble phosphate district of Florida is a part of the Gulf Coastal Plain. The geologic formations cropping out in the district are the Miocene Hawthorn, Pliocene Bone Valley, and Pleistocene terrace sands. The Bone Valley formation consists of a lower strongly phosphatic unit and an upper less phosphatic unit. This paper is concerned principally with the lower unit, which contains the bulk of the minable phosphate deposits of the district.
