From abstract: This paper is primarily a progress report on studies designed to accumulate geologic data that will aid in our understanding of the localization and the genesis of uranium deposits in the Dripping Springs quartzite.

From to the files: To date, all the mineralization seen in the Monument Valley area in the Shinarump formation has been in scour channels. The mineralized rock occurs at or near the bottom of the channel. On Hoskinnini Mesa, all the channels examined to date contain some mineralized material. Channels observed may in some cases contain copper without apparent uranium mineralization; others definitely exhibit copper-uranium mineralization.

From introduction: The purpose of this paper is to present the geologic facts which have been discovered thus far about the Lukachukai area and to draw conclusions about uranium mineralization. Basic data of general nature are included to facilitate the work of future geologists in this area who may find the information applicable to new ideas.

From introduction: A rapid appraisal of the carnotite resources of the Salt Wash sandstone member of the Morrison formation in the Carrizo Mountains area was undertaken by the U. S. Geological Survey late in 1951 in connection with its current project of geologic mapping of the area. Though brief and preliminary, this report provides a summary of production trends and estimated reserves in the area and indicates as far as possible the total potential of the area as a source of uranium. This information may be helpful in planning new milling facilities or other measures to encourage a higher rate of production.

Abstract: Field and laboratory data are presented for 161 water samples and 235 sediment samples from the Douglas Quadrangle, Arizona; New Mexico. Uranium values have been reported by Los Alamos National Laboratory in Report GJBX-69(78). The samples were collected by Los Alamos National Laboratory; laboratory analysis and data reporting were performed by Uranium Resource Evaluation Project at Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

From abstract: This abbreviated data report presents results of ground water and stream/surface sediment reconnaissance in the National Topographic Map Series (NTMS) Needles 1' x 2 quadrangle. Surface sediment samples were collected at 1672 sites, at a target sampling density of one site per 13 square kilometers (five square miles). Ground water samples were collected at 49 sites. Neutron activation analysis (NAA) results are given for uranium and 16 other elements in sediments, and for uranium and 9 other elements in ground water. Mass spectrometry results are given for helium in ground water. Field measurements and observations are reported for each site. Analytical data and field measurements are presented in tables and maps.

From abstract: This report presents the results of the geochemical reconnaissance sampling in the Prescott quadrangle of the National Topographic Map Series (NTMS). Wet and dry sediment samples were collected throughout the 18,770 square kilometer arid-to-semiarid area and water samples at available streams, springs, and wells.

From Introduction: "The Grand Canyon Quadrangle (2º), northwestern Arizona (Fig. 1), was evaluated to identify geologic environments and delineate areas that exhibit characteristics favorable for uranium deposits."

From Purpose and Scope: "The Marble Canyon Quadrangle (2º), an area of 20,634 km2, is in northeastern Arizona (Fig. 1). The quadrangle was evaluated to a depth of 1500 m to identify geologic environments and delineate areas that exhibit characteristics favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits. Favorable environments, as determined by surface and subsurface investigation, are those that could contain uranium deposits of at least 100 tons U3O8 in rocks with an average grade not less than 100 ppm U3O8. Work on the Marble Canyon Quadrangle began March 6, 1979, and ended February 29, 1980."
