Patent for a clothes line that improves on a clothes line previously granted to Lane and Kelly (No. 449,480) that improves how the wire sections connect so that the clothes can be easily attached and detached because there will be less pressure on the clamping loops.

Patent for an improved car-coupling that consists of a hollow drawhead, a knuckle pivoted in the drawhead, a lock that pivots across the drawhead, a catch on one side of the drawhead, a spring presses on the side of the lock, a lever pivoted in the drawhead, a hand rod connected to the arm, a hand rod connected to the drawhead, and a bell crank lever pivoted in the drawhead.

Patent for a car-coupling which is an improvement on a patent (No. 520,380) previously granted to the inventor. It has two jaws that are used with a combination of other parts to couple cars.

Patent for a car-truck bolster "made of cast steel or malleable iron, cast in one piece, and provided with a plurality of corrugations running longitudinally or in an approximately longitudinal direction along the girders which form the sides of the said bolster" (lines 15-20).

Patent for a machine that secures "pickets in wire fencing, the wires having been secured to and stretched between the fence-posts and the machine applied to the wires and operated by hand to secure the pickets to the wires by an operation which places them in crossed relation to form loops within which the pickets are secured at the proper distance apart" (lines 9-16). The machine works on wires that have already been stretched.

Patent for improvements in machinery for facilitating the pressing of cotton; and it relates particularly to mechanism in which cylinders and pistons are used, under the influence of fluid or liquid, such as steam, air, water, or gas under pressure to operate the follower-block of a bailing-press. Patent for an oil paint substitute consisting of furniture glue, water, soda ash, and salicylic acid, rosin, and pigment. Includes instructions for three different formulas.

Patent for "an instrument that may be conveniently supported upon the lap of the player without any supporting-bands, that is of unique and handsome appearance, that is strong and durable, not liable to be injured by ordinary falls, in which the bridge is secure, the neck properly braced, and to give to the body such shape as will increase its resonance, while at the same time preserving the musical sweetness inherent in instruments of this class" (lines 13-22).

Patent for a new and improved side guide for printing and lithographic presses. This design consists "in a novel construction of . . . feed-guides . . . and a double guide on a single support . . . which may be adjusted a short distance or entirely across the feed board or base of a printing or other press and can be used either on the right or left hand side of the press" (lines 13-23).

Patent for "a new and useful improvement in pinless clothes lines" (lines 10-11) that uses spring-clamping fingers that are part of the line instead of detachable pins; including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a certain new, useful, and valuable improvement in ditching machines for cutting ditches.

Patent for a new and improved rubber compound, including instructions and illustrations.

Design for a staple provided with series of barbs or spurs and intervening corrugations arranged in continuous series at the inner and outer edges of the staple.
