This design "will automatically lock the gate or door when swung closed and which will firmly hold the same, which can be readily opened by hand or otherwise" (lines 17-20). It consists in "[t]he latch consisting of the case, the two triangular catches, the transverse pivots therefor in the lower outer corners of the case, the rigid stops at the lower outer corners of the case to prevent outward swing of said catches, the inwardly and laterally extending arms at the upper inner end of said catches, and the horizontal lifting-bar normally resting on said pivots" (lines 24-32).

Patent for the grain doors that will improve better access through the use of double doors.

Patent for a new and improved garden hoe used for weeding purposes. The improvement is related to, "...the handle of the implement being hollow" (lines 11-12) and able to receive a quantity of seed, and a mechanism that controls the delivery of seed to the hoe.

Patent for improvements to "the construction and combination of the levers, rack-bars, and pawls with each other, and with the follower and baling-box" (lines 15-17).

Patent for an improvement in grinding-mills, combining the operative mechanism with spindles - in which the both the grinding stones obtain relative surface speeds only half the actual speed of the stones.

Patent for "plow mold-boards to which the black land of Texas, and other similar soils, will not adhere, so that a furrow can be turned, however sticky and waxy the soil may be." (lines 14-18) including instructions and illustrations.
