The Polarographic Determination of Uranium in the Presence of Plutonium
Strubl's polarographic method for the determination of uranium in the presence of iron can be used for the determination of uranium in plutonium solutions. A hydroxylamine hydrochloride solution (2M) is used as the supporting electrolyte. This reduces the plutonium to the plus three oxidation state without reducing the uranium. The uranium may then be determined polarographically by measuring the height of the uranyl reduction wave (UVI to UV) at -0.35 volts (vs. S.C.E.) applied potential. Solutions with a U/Pu weight ratio as low as 3.5 x 10(-3) were analyzed with an error of less than 2%. This error increased to 6% for solutions of 1 x 10(-3) U/Pu ration and is considerably larger for smaller U/Pu ratios.

Free-Jet Altitude Investigation of a 20-Inch Ram-Jet Combustor With a Rich Inner Zone of Combustion for Improved Low-Temperature-Ratio Operation
From Summary: "An investigation of the altitude performance of a 20-inch-diameter high-temperature-ratio ram-jet combustor which had been redesigned to provide good combustor efficiency over a wide range of temperature ratios was conducted at zero angle of attack in a free-jet facility at a Mach number of 3.0. Configurations investigated incorporated a cylindrical control sleeve which confined the injected fuel at low over-all fuel-air ratios to about 40 percent of the engine air flow. This provided an optimum fuel-air mixture over a portion of the flame holder when the over-all fuel-air ratio was about 0.02."

Experimental investigation of the effect of a shrouded rotor on the performance of a conservatively designed turbine
Report presenting an investigation of a conservatively designed experimental cold-air turbine with and without a shroud band on the rotor blades. The tip of the rotor blade was oriented toward the tangential direction so that the adverse effect of blade-tip scraping would not be appreciable. The efficiency for the unshrouded-rotor configuration was about one point higher than for the shrouded rotor.
