The experiment outlined in this proposal has the possibility of giving an answer to the important question, 'Does the neutrino exist'? It is unfortunate that at the present time, there is no convincing experimental that neutrinos exist. Two recent articles review the status of various experiments which could give information about neutrinos. In general, these experiments give results in agreement with the predictions of beta decay theory. But actually, if even the most complete of the 'recoil type' experiments could be performed satisfactorily, all that could be concluded would be the following: the energy and momentum relationships in beta decay are consistent with the theory that the known energy deficit is carried away by a single particle. But to emphasize the fact that this would not constitute a proof of the real existence of that particle, the following quotations from the review articles should be noted. Crane says, 'All of the evidence about the neutrino is, as already pointed out, indirect in character since neutrinos have not yet been caught after leaving the nucleus. Abstract. Irradiated Whiting graphite possesses a small negative or a positive Hall constant, depending upon the dosage. Annealing at 500 degrees C for 1 hour in helium results in a Hall constant which is large in magnitude and negative in sign. The properties of the annealed graphite are presumably close to those of the original unirradiated material. Unirradiated AGOT-K graphite has a large, negative Hall constant. A mechanism is suggested which accounts for the change in sign of the Hall constant as a result of neutron bombardment.

Summary: A method is presented for the precipitation of tuballoy, apparently as a tubanyl ammonium sulfite, from gunk solutions containing the contaminants encountered in the recovery cycle. The impurities are not precipitated under the conditions employed, and their amounts in the product are reduced to values which can be attributed to occlusion. The recovery of tuballoy on one precipitation ranges from 99.5% to 99.9%.

Report presents the results of an analysis made of the aileron control characteristics of numerous airplanes tested in flight by the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. By the use of previously developed theory, the observed values of pb/2v for the various wing-aileron arrangements were examined to determine the effective section characteristics of the various aileron types.

A theoretical analysis of the temperature distribution through the trailing portion of a blade near the coolant passages of liquid cooled gas turbines was made. The analysis was applied to obtain the hot spot temperatures at the trailing edge and influence of design variables. The effective gas temperature was varied from 2000 degrees to 5000 degrees F in each investigation.
