Patent for invention relates to new and improved process of curing Spanish moss object of the invention being to shorten the time here to fore deemed necessary to properly cure the moss, second to obtain a larger percentage of higher grades of fiber will not be injured but will appear in a sound healthy condition, and fourth to so treat the moss that any desired grade of fiber may be obtained. Patent for a new and improved throat-latch fastener. This design consists in a "connecting-plate for bridles, having the side and end bars, the intermediate transverse bars . . . and the central longitudinal bar, having a stud in one portion thereof" (lines 79-83).

Patent for a new and improved combination lock. This design's operation "is as follows: Being unlocked, the bolt is in the retracted position . . . [t]he door can then be operated in the usual manner, being held, when closed, by the ordinary spring-bolt. . . . When the door is closed, in order to lock it, the graduated knob is turned, operating the toothed disk and the first or governing ring, which will . . . throw out the end of the locking-bolt.
