Patent for a new and improved cotton gin. This design "has for its object to so attach the front and rollers to the device that the rollers may be cleaned and freed from trash, burrs, and seed, when necessary, without stopping the gin" (lines 14-18).

Patent for a new and improved fence. This design calls for two spring-bars to be driven into the ground alongside two crossbars and laced between the latter. This lacing of spring-bars allows for "much additional bracing strength" for the crossbars and enables barbed wire to be stretched along where the spring-bars intersect (line 33).

Patent for a new and improved churn-dasher for butter churns. This design calls for two weights on opposite ends of the bottom of the churn-dasher so that the dasher will "revolve with greater force and to balance it more easily upon its pivot" (lines 17-18). This lessens the wear on the bottom of the churn, which increases the longevity of the dasher.

Patent for a new device for cutting boiler-tubes. This design "is to be adjusted a distance from the head sufficiently in excess of the thickness of the tube sheet to prevent injury to the latter. The device is then inserted into the end of the tube, with the head abutting against the outside of the tube-sheet. By turning the screw the wedges may then be drawn toward each other, thus forcing the block carrying the cutter outward. The device is now to be turned by the shank alternately with feeding the cutter outward until the tube has been cut through, after which it may be readily removed" (lines 75-88).

Patent for a new and improved back band buckle. This design "consists in the construction and novel arrangement of the middle bar having an outwardly-projecting stud, the upper bar parallel to the middle bar and having an under offset recess, and a depending lug-hook and spring-snap" (lines 19-26).

Patent for a new and improved faucet with a toy attachment. This design "relates to faucets for soda-fountains and the like; and it consists in providing the same with a jointed figure or automaton adapted to be operated by the escaping fluid" (lines 21-25).

Patent for improvements in insect-exterminating compounds and processes; the ingredients for the mixture and instruction on how to prepare the compound are included. No illustration.

Patent for a new combination oil lamp and reflector. This design "has for its object the production of a lamp and a reflector adapted the one to the other, and in such points of construction as shall contribute to the effectiveness of both, in that no part of the former obstructs the rays of light reflected by the other, and both shall be of simple and cheap construction; and [it] consists in certain devices and combinations of devices" (lines 20-28).

Patent for new and useful device capable of arresting sparks and returning them to the smoke arch.

Patent for the invention of stocking manufacture in two section, a leg section and a foot section- susceptible of being connected and disconnected by sewing for the purpose of renewing the foot-section when unduly worn by substituting therefor a new section [5-10].

Patent for a new and improved snath fastener. This design "relates to devices for attaching scythes to their handles; and it consists in certain improvements in the construction of the same" (lines 17-20).
