The following report is the first volume documenting the high sensitivity airborne radiometric and magnetic data taken during the month of April, 1980, by EG&G geoMetrics in the western areas of South Dakota. This volume contains survey description, specifications, data processing methods, interpretation methods, and regional geologic review.

This report is one part of the second volume containing data on the Nemo Detail area in South Dakota. This volume contains the detailed geologic summary, interpretation report, standard deviation maps, pseudo-contour maps, interpretation map, flight line and geologic base map, individual corrected profiles, computer map unit histograms and statistical tables.

A high sensitivity airborne radiometric and magnetic survey of the Rice Like, Iron Mountain, Eau Claire and Green Bay 1:250,000 NMTS Quadrangles within the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota. A total of 10,340 line miles of high sensitivity radiometric and magnetic data were collected within these quadrangles. Traverse lines were flown at a spacing of 3.125 miles in an east/west direction at a 18.375 miles seperation. All data were collected utilizing a fixed wing aircraft and over 3,500 cubic inches of Nal crystal detector. Magnetometer data were collected utilizing a high sensitivity proton magnetometer. Data were recorded digitally at 1.0 second intervals aboard the aircraft. Navigation was performed using both visual and doppler techniques. All data presented in this report as corrected profiles of all radiometric variables, magnetic data, radar and barometric altimeter data, air temperature and airborne bismuth contributions. Radiometric data presented are corrected for Comptron Scatter, altitude dependence and atmospheric Bismuth. These data are also presented on microfiche, and digital magnetic tapes. In addition, anomaly maps and inerpretation maps are presented in relating known geology or soil distribution to the corrected radiometric magnetic data.

"This report represents the results of the reconnaissance sampling of the Deep Creek Mountains of western Utah...Samples collected in this study include dry and wet stream sediments and water from available streams, wells, and springs. The samples were analyzed for uranium, as well as 15 to 20 trace element, using neutron activation techniques. In addition, field and laboratory measurements were made on the water samples." This report presents rock sample and uranium data examined from the Van Horn, Texas area. Over 300 rocks samples were analyzed for 30 elements.

From project objectives: The Sonora Pass region was identified by the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) as a potential uranium resource area because of past uranium production at the Juniper Mine and reported high-grade occurrences in other buried fluvial channels which are Tertiary in age. The objective of the Sonora Pass drilling project was to obtain subsurface data that would increase the accuracy of uranium reserve estimates for the project area.
