The Detection of Uranium by X-ray Spectrometry
Abstract: "The possibility of detecting small quantities of uranium with an X-ray spectrometer was investigated. An X-ray spectrograph was modified by substituting a geiger counter for the photographic film. Both primary and secondary methods of excitation were studied. Radiation background of high intensity and variability limits the sensitivity of the present apparatus to 1%. Suggestions are made for increasing the sensitivity of the method."

Production of Fuel Assemblies for the Materials Testing Reactor Mock-Up Critical Experiments
Technical report outlining the fabrication of twenty-five fuel assemblies and three shim-safety rod fuel sections for use in the Materials Resting Reactor Mock-Up Critical Experiments. Results show that two of the assemblies exceeded tolerance in a few of the key dimensions, but were considered acceptable and as a consequence, production was carried out with no rejects. The Mass Spectra of the α-Amino Acids
From abstract: "The mass spectra of the α-amino acids have been obtained in a mass spectrometer equipped with a heated crucible ion source. Correlations of these data have been made with the molecular formulae of the ion fragments, and mechanisms leading to these fragments are proposed. Comparisons of these data have been made with the mass spectra of the ethyl esters of the amino acids and with other carboxylic acids and their esters."
