From introduction: A tectonic map of most of the Cordilleran Foreland (fig. 2) is being compiled as an aid to study the geologic setting of uranium deposits within the region, and to determine what relationships may exist between the distribution of uranium deposits and the regional tectonic pattern (Osterwald, 1955). The map will show the distribution of faults, uranium deposits, areas of volcanic activity, and crestlines and troughs of folds.

The following report is the first volume documenting the high sensitivity airborne radiometric and magnetic data taken during the month of April, 1980, by EG&G geoMetrics in the western areas of South Dakota. This volume contains survey description, specifications, data processing methods, interpretation methods, and regional geologic review.

From abstract: The uranium mineral uranocircite, a barium uranyl phosphate, occurs in a sandstone channel in the Chadron formation of Oligocene age in the White River Badlands, Pennington County, S. Dak. A vertical section of the basal 1-foot of the channel contains 0. 25 percent uranium. There are also small amounts of metatyuyamunite (?) in the upper part of a freshwater lime stone bed in the Chadron formation and carnotite in chalcedony veins in the overlying Brule formation, also of Oligocene age.

Abstract: "This report, designed to make available to field geologists and others information on identification and occurrence of uranium minerals of the Colorado Plateaus, contains physical properties, X-ray data, and in some instances results of chemical and spectrographic analysis of 24 uranium and 17 vanadium minerals. Also included is a table giving the optical properties of uranium minerals and a list of locations of mines from which the minerals have been identified."

This report presents the results of an airborne radiometric survey that was made of the Inyan Kara group in the Black Hills of South Dakota and Wyoming between March 5 to December 5, 1952.

From Summary: "The transport-depletion data obtained by the Southern Research Institute and by the Bureau of Reclamation at Denver, Colorado and at Webster, South Dakota, was reviewed. This data review made it possible to develop a design methodology for the pilot plant, and to identify the additional data required to adequately predict the performance of a transport-depletion stack."
