Patent for a new invention to improve tire-tighteners."Provides a simple, inexpensive, and efficient device capable of firmly engaging a felly and a spoke and adapted to be readily adjusted to tighten a tire" (lines 12-15) and includes specifications and illustrations.

Patent for improvements to tongue supports. "One object of the present invention is to improve the construction of tongue-supports and to provide a simple, inexpensive, and efficient device designed to be connected with the ends of a doubletree and with the front axle and capable of supporting the front portion of the tongue or pole in an elevated position to relieve the neck of the draft- animals of the weight of the same" (lines 10-18). Patent for a bicycle that can be operated by the operator's hands or feet or both, and the motion used to operate the bicycle is that of rowing. "the rider must assume a position upon the machine corresponding to that assumed by an oarsman in a boat, and as the rider can work with both hands and feet all the energy and strength he is capable of exerting can be brought to bear upon the propelling mechanism in a most effective manner, and the seat can be rendered much more comfortable than at present and in no wise interfere with the rider's movements" (lines 18-27).

Patent for an improvement to the construction of sliding gates that will "enable them to be readily opened by persons on horses and in vehicles and to be closed by them after passing through the gate." (Lines 12-15) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for improvements in devices for cooling milk and butter by using textile materials to cover the buckets or pails that contain milk or butter or other food articles, then saturated these textile covered buckets or pails with water; thus reducing the temperature of the articles contained in the buckets or pails, owing to evaporation. Illustration is included.

Patent for improvements in the construction and design of hillside-plows.

Patent for a new and improved planter. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the plow-beam having the hopper provided with two seed-compartments and a discharge compartment, of the oscillating levers fulcrumed in hangers beneath the plow-beam, the rods provided with fixed cups, and the rods provided with the hinged cups, and the cranked wheel for operating the levers" (lines 10-17).
