Patent for a new and improved planter. This design consists in "the combination, with the hopper and the seed-slide therein having one end projecting from one end of the hopper, of the reciprocating yoke having its rear portion angular in cross-section and its front portion cylindrical in cross-section and having an arm at one end to engage the opening in the projecting end of the seed-slide, the angular and cylindrical bearings for the respective parts of the yoke, whereby the latter may be unshipped from or attached to the seed-slide, and the mechanism to reciprocate the yoke" (lines 71-83).

Patent for "a truck mounted upon wheels, to the reat end of which is adjusted a sifter that, as the machine is progressing, will have lateral reciprocating motion imparted thereto and eject powder through an attached meshed screen" (lines 10-15).

Patent for a new and improved nut lock. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the loop-formed nut-locking device and the plate to which it is hinged, of the supplementary locking device, consisting of a wire or rod having one end bent at right angles and embracing the hinge of the main device and its other end provided with a hook to receive the side bar of the main device" (lines 37-44).

Patent for "an engine that is adaptable to all kinds of work, and which is capable of running the heaviest locomotive and the lightest sewing-machine with equal ease and satisfaction" (lines 9-13).

Patent for a new and improved scarf protector. This design "is to provide an improved device for protecting the upper exposed edge of a necktie or scarf from wear . . . in such a manner that said securing [device is] concealed from view. With these ends in view the first part of [the] invention consists in an extensible protector, U-shaped in cross-section, to fit closely over the upper edge of the scarf and consisting of two members or sections, which are connected at the rear thereof by a pin-and-slot connection to adapt them to be extended longitudinally with respect to each other" (lines 17-33).
