Patent for an apparatus for protecting electrical circuits, and is an improvement on a previous patent (No. 537,932) issued to the inventor. This patent consists of "an electrical circuit, an alarm or indicator, a continuously-operating signal-transmitter at the protected structure operating to affect or influence the alarm or indicator, and a second or duplicate continuously-operating signal-transmitter located at the watchman's station, operating in unison with the first-named signal-transmitter to affect the alarm or indicator equally and oppositely as regards the first-named transmitter, whereby a signal is sounded or an alarm given only when the two transmitters are out of unison or when one is changed, varied, or interfered with in an unauthorized manner" (lines 72-86).

Patent for a rigid, strong, and adjustable to different inclinations awning-bracket meant to be permanently attached to a building. It can be folded for shipment or storage.

Patent for "baling-presses of that class wherein motion is communicated to the plunger from a sweep operated by horse or similar power, and the object in view is to improve the construction of the baling-chamber and attachments, and, furthermore, to provide a simple and efficient construction of plunger-operating mechanism" (lines 8-15)

Patent for car-coupling. The object of this invention is to provide an improved automatic car-coupling of simple, durable, and effective construction that will permit the necessary longitudinal and lateral play of the coupling-link to correspond with inequalities of the track, facilitate the turning of curves, and enable the coupling to accommodate itself to draw-heads of unequal height.

Patent for "a high-speed rotary engine wherein the steam-impelled wheel shall revolve in a horizontal plane within an upright open cylinder." (Lines 10-13) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved potholder. This design is "to provide novel means whereby the various sizes of baking and other pans in the equipment of a kitchen can be conveniently and safely handled without danger of the pan being accidentally disengaged from the implement . . . to provide a novel hot-pan lifter which will in use have a positive toothed engagement with the rim of a hot-pan . . . to provide novel, simple, and efficient means whereby the lifter or implement can be promptly and conveniently released from . . .the pan . . . by the simple pressure of the thumb" (lines 18-31).

Patent for "an improvement in that class of ice-cream freezers in which the cream is taken up and frozen by contact with a revolving cylinder containing some refrigerant, and is removed therefrom by means of a suitable scraper" (lines 7-12).

Patent for a simple and compact wire-fence machine that can be hand operated and aids in the construction of a wire fence. The machine stretches and maintains tension while twisting and securing the wire to a post. The machine also twists wires together.

Patent for a cotton-cultivator that brings unevenly planted cotton plants to "stand" quickly, effectively, and without much effort. "Five or more stands can be obtained at one operation of the machine" (lines 23-25).

Patent for a sight-feed for planters with a rotable feed-disk brings the seed to the spout. "The operator who is following the planter may be enabled to accurately observe the workings of the same and the delivery of the seed, and thus see at all times that a proper planting is taking place" (lines 17-21).

Patent for "an improvement in furnaces, and more particularly to such as are employed for burning offal, refuse from slaughtering-houses" in which the furnace is surrounded by water, and any liquid inside the furnace can be expelled in the form of vapor (lines11-14).

Patent for a simple and inexpensive electric meter that measures and records "the time during which an electric translating device, such as a motor or light, is connected with the source of supply, such as a dynamo-electric machine, located at a central station" (lines 11-15). Anyone can understand how it works, and it is more accurate than other meters.

Patent for an "apparatus adapted for continuously compressing and baling cotton in juxtaposition to the ginning machinery, by conducting cotton from the condenser to compressing rolls operating to progressively compress the fluffy mass into a compact bat or sheet which is laid in folds or laps and subsequently moved or transferred to a suitable baling press and subjected to final pressure to expel the air from between the folds or laps and enable the bale or package to be tied while under pressure." Patent for an improvement to cotton gins, allowing them to be constructed from a series of continuous shafts instead of pulleys, belts, and bearings. Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a safety-guard for cars that use a flexible netting in front of the car and has a double frame for support. It folds compactly when not in use.

Patent for a method of disposing of human feces "by water and the destruction of disease producing germs in the same in centers of population which are situated near running streams or large bodies of water" (lines 12-15).

Patent for car coupling in which the coupling is improved upon so that it is "positive and certain in operation, simple in construction, interchangeable in parts, durable in use, cheap in manufacture, and not liable to become deranged or inoperative by rough usage or by the exterior influences of weather and other conditions" (lines 10-15).

Patent for a new and useful improvement in brakes for street or railway cars.

Patent for a new and useful snuff-packages for the retail trade. This design is to "provide a receptacle in which the snuff can be packed and kept in proper condition until used" (line 9 - 11).
