Condition Survey: Mather Air Force Base, California

"The purpose of this report is to present the results of a condition survey performed at Mather Air Force Base (MAFB), California, during 31 October-3 November 1972. The two major areas of interest considered in this condition survey were the structural condition of the primary airfield pavements and the condition of pavement repairs and the types of maintenance materials that have been used at this airfield" (p. 1).

Extension of Transient-Flow Model of the Sacramento River at Sacramento California (open access)

Extension of Transient-Flow Model of the Sacramento River at Sacramento California

This report presents the results of a "multiple-reach method-of-characteristics flow-simulation model" applied to a ten point eight mile portion of the Sacramento River in 1976. It includes a map, graphs, and a table.

Graphical Method for Estimating Occurence and Duration of a Critical Low Flow in the Sacramento River at Freeport, California (open access)

Graphical Method for Estimating Occurence and Duration of a Critical Low Flow in the Sacramento River at Freeport, California

Abstract: Sacramento County expected to begin operation of the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in 1982. The California State Water Resources Control Board has ruled that the plant will not be allowed to release effluent into the Sacramento River when flow in the river is 4,000 cubic feet per second or less. Depending on tide condition, flows less than 4,000 cubic feet per second may occur either once or twice during each 24-hour 50-minute tide cycle when the daily mean flow is less than about 12,000 cubic feet per second. Daily mean flows less than 12,000 cubic feet per second occur about 28 percent of the time. Riverflow at the plant outfall is monitored by an acoustic streamflow measuring system. Regulation of effluent released from the plant will normally be based on real-time flow data computed by the acoustic system. A graphical method for determining the occurrence and duration of flows of 4,000 cubic feet per second and less was developed as a backup system to be used if a temporary failure in the acoustic system occurs.

Application of Transient-Flow Model to the Sacramento River at Sacramento, California (open access)

Application of Transient-Flow Model to the Sacramento River at Sacramento, California

This report applies the transient-flow simulation model to the Sacramento River in California; "the model has demonstrated that it can provide reliable daily mean as well as instantaneous discharge data," among other things. It includes a map, graphs, and tables.

Strontium Program Quarterly Summary Report: November 1958 - January 1959 (open access)

Strontium Program Quarterly Summary Report: November 1958 - January 1959

From Abstract: "This report is one of a sequence of quarterly reports, each designed to up-date its predecessor beginning with HASL-42, "Environmental Contamination from Weapon Tests." Herein are reported data which have accrued since HASL-51. In particular, the levels of strontium 90 in fallout, milk, tap water, vegetation, and foods are given, based on data available from November 1, 1958 to January 30, 1959."
