An aerial radiological survey was conducted over the Superconducting Super Collider Laboratory (SSCL) site from July 22 through August 20,1991. Parallel lines were flown at intervals of 305 meters over a 1,036-square-kilometer (400-square-mile) area surrounding Waxahachie, Texas. The 70,000 terrestrial gamma energy spectra obtained were reduced to an exposure rate contour map overlaid on a United States Geological Survey (USGS) map of the area. The mean terrestrial exposure rate measured was 5.4 {mu}R/h at 1 meter above ground level. Comparison to ground-based measurements shows good agreement. No anomalous or man-made isotopes were detected.

This design is of a car-coupling with a bumper having recesses and slots, "having [a] lip and transverse inner wall, the hook pivoted therein, the bumper, the stirrup suspended beneath the bumper, vertical rods or connections, levers pivoted in suitable bearings on the car-roof, locking-plate, and the [additional] levers" (lines 1-6).

It is not necessary, therefore, to apply as much power to the handles to produce the same result. This design consists in "the combination of a tube having a longitudinal slot in its top at one end and a transverse slot in the bottom near the other end, the top of the tube on each side of the longitudinal slot bent downward, a pen secured to the end of the tube having the longitudinal slot, a portion of one side piece of the pen forming an end for the tube and the other side piece being cut away and secured to the tube, and a receptacle under the end of the tube having the transverse slot, the upper edges of the pen and of the receptacle being bent" (lines 65-77).

Patent for "quilting-frame attachments for sewing-machines, and has for its object the provision of a device which can be readily applied to any sewing-machine without marring or disfiguring the top thereof, and which will not overbalance the machine when quilting a large-sized bed-covering, and which can be easily detached and stored in a small compass so as to occupy a minimum amount of room when not required for use."
