Patent for a simple, inexpensive, and compact check-punch that can be operated by one hand and doesn't take much power to operate. The machine consists of two movable members, "one of which carries all of the male and the other all of the female dies, said members being so related that when moved relatively to each other in one direction all the male dies move as a single member...and enter the female dies, and when moved in the opposite direction all of said male dies are withdrawn" (lines 12-20).

Car-Coupling.
Patent for a simple, durable, and safe car-coupling that will not accidentally uncouple, and can uncouple without the operator stepping between the cars. It "consists principally of a knuckle pivoted in the drawhead and provided with cam surfaces, and an arm mounted to swing and adapted to engage the said cam surfaces to open and close the knuckle" (lines 14-18). The coupling can also couple cars of different heights.

Patent for a new and improved cartridge belt. This design "is to provide a new and improved cartridge-belt for holding cartridges securely, the said belt being simple in construction, strong, and durable. The invention consists in the combination of a belt, with a strap held on the same by up-right metal fasteners and forming pockets on the belt. Patent for improvements in mechanism for “applying oil to curves and switches of street railway tracks” (lines 6-7) by using an “oil-tank [that] is arranged in the upper position of the hood or shield over the car-wheel.
