Dust Guard for Car Windows.

Patent for a new and improved dust guard for windows. This design consists in "the body . . . which is of concavo-convex form, closed at its upper end by a transverse plate and provided at its lower end with a contracted opening for the discharge of cinders, dust, &c., said body portion being provided with means . . . for affecting its attachment to a window frame" (lines 77-85).

Patent for a new and improved device for converting reciprocating into rotary motion. This design "has for its object to provide means whereby rotary motion may be converted into reciprocating motion or reciprocating motion into rotary motion without the intervention of cranks; and to this end it consists in a mutilated gear pinion secured to a rotating shaft and provided with suitable cams, whereby the gear-teeth upon the pinion are caused to engage with gear-teeth upon a yoke embracing said pinion" (lines 23-32).
