Marysville Lake Hydrothermal Study: Report 2

Partial abstract: "This study was conducted to determine the effect that the proposed Marysville Lake pump-storage hydropower (2250-mw power plant) project would have on downstream water temperatures. A one-dimensional numerical model was used for simulation and prediction of temperatures within and downstream of Marysville Lake. Two physical hydraulic models were used for study and description of the hydrodynamic response of the project. Information from the physical models was necessary to determine coefficients used by algorithms within the mathematical model."

The Lyon Station-Paulins Kill Nappe : the Frontal Structure of the Musconetcong Nappe System in Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey (open access)

The Lyon Station-Paulins Kill Nappe : the Frontal Structure of the Musconetcong Nappe System in Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey

From abstract: Geologic and aeromagnetic data show that a major tectonic unit underlies rocks of the Musconetcong nappe in the Great Valley of eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This structure, the Lyon Station-Paulins Kill nappe, can be traced from Lyon Station, Pa., at least to Branchville, N.J., a distance of about 120 km. The nappe has a core of Precambrian crystalline rocks as shown by an aeromagnetic anomaly that has the same signature as the outcropping Precambrian rocks of the Musconetcong nappe. This core extends at least 70 km east from Lyon Station to Bangor, Pa., the eastern limit of the aeromagnetic survey. This report details the frontal structure of this system.

Geohydrologic Data from the Jemez Mountains and Vicinity, North-Central New Mexico

Abstract: The Jemez Mountains volcanic region, on the west margin of the Rio Grande rift in north-central New Mexico, is the site of studies whose objective is power development using geothermal heat. This report summarizes geohydrologic data obtained to provide background information relative to the geothermal exploration and to investigate the usefulness of hydrology in assessment of the geothermal resource. Eleven tables present chemical, temperature, discharge, and other data for springs, wells, and streams. Accompanying figures show locations of the data points and present temperature profiles and geophysical logs for selected wells.

Potentiometric Map of the Memphis Sand in the Memphis Area, Tennessee, August 1978 (open access)

Potentiometric Map of the Memphis Sand in the Memphis Area, Tennessee, August 1978

From explanation: This map is based on water level measurements made in wells screened in the Eocene Memphis Sand (formerly "500-foot sand"). Monthly low-water levels for the month of August, 1978 from USGS maintained recorder equipped wells and supplemental measurements made on August 22 and 23 of private and industrial wells were used as control. Water levels are commonly at their lowest for the year during late August of early September (Criner and Parks, 1976).
