It describes the management of standards activities at NBS, profiles NBS staf* participation on outside standards committees, and highlights significant technical and individual contributions made by NBS staff. In 1982, 457 staff members (or 29% of NBS' professional, scientific, and technical staff) participated in 1,046 outside standards committees of 97 national and international standards organizations.
