This report provides results from a preliminary study to determine rock types and alteration products that are responsible for an observed abundance of radioactive gas at the Trinity Gold Mine in Utah. It includes an overview of the study and the location, description of the methods and general statements, details about the structure, petrography and mineralogy, and a discussion of findings.

This report is a preliminary evaluation of the uranium resources of the Brushy Basin Member of the Morrison Formation of Late Jurassic age in southwestern Colorado and southeastern Utah. The project, which began July 1, 1976, and was completed October 1, 1976, was carried out by the Bendix Field Engineering Corporation (BFEC) for the Grand Junction Office of the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration (ERDA).

From approach: This survey consisted of aerial gamma-ray spectrometer and magnet-meter data collection including: (1) Coverage of those portions of the Delta, Utah NTMS 1:250,000 scale quadrangle (Figure 1-1) which were not surveyed in 1976 under Bendix Field Engineering Corporation subcontract No. 76-019-L, Texas Instruments (1977a). (2) Reflights of portions of the 1976 flight lines which were out of altitude specifications. (3) Extra flight lines over the 1976 survey area to provide complete detailed coverage of the NW quarter of the quadrangle. The program also included processing and interpretation of the gamma-ray spectrometer data necessary to indicate potential new uranium prospecting areas.

This is an aerial reconnaissance survey report of the Delta Quadrangle in Utah.

From introduction: This report presents the results of a preliminary study of uranium occurrences in the beryllium belt of Juab County, Utah. The study was conducted by Bendix Field Engineering Corporation (BFEC) for the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration (ERDA) to aid in estimating the uranium potential of the area.

"This report summarizes published geotechnical properties of raw and retorted oil shales from the Green River Formation. Basic physical properties including gradation, specific gravity and Atterberg limits and engineering properties including compaction, permeability, settlement, soundness, and strength are summarized and discussed. Where appropriate, conclusions are drawn about the suitability of retorted oil shales as a geotechnical construction material. Appendix A discusses three retorting processes used to extract oil from oil shale" (abstract, para. 2-3).
