Patent for a new and improved gauge for weatherboards. This design utilizes a guiding loop and a hinged part to create a gauge that, "after it has been attached to the house, will support at least two boards in position while they are being nailed on, before it is necessary to the move the gage [sic] into another position, and which gage will be so securely held in place that the boards can be moved back and forth without displacing it in any manner" (lines 27-34).

Patent for a walking seed-planter. It has a frame, a supporting-wheel between two beams of the frame, a seed-slide with forwardly-projecting arms and blocks that are engaged by cams, a hopper that overlies the seed-slide, springs attached to the hopper and the seed-slide that return the slide to its usual position, a pin that limits the seed-slide's movement, shovels on the frame, a seed-spout, a bolt that holds the frame together, and brace-rods.

Patent for an improved, simple, and inexpensive nut lock that can be easily used and removed. It lengthens the life of the bolt. The invention is "a bolt with a longitudinal groove or slot in which fits a tongue or lug on a washer which is provided with a notch or notches into which may be forced a portion or portions of a washer made of bendable material, opposite portions of which are designed to be forced into notches in the faces of the nut and thus the nut and both washers are bound or held firmly together" (lines 14-23).
