Patent for a new and improved axle-box for locomotives. This design "has relation to self-adjusting wedges for axle or driving boxes for locomotives, and has for its objects to produce a wedge that is controlled by a spring, which can be readily and easily adjusted for removing the pounding and lost motion between the axle-box and pedestal" (lines 11-17).

Patent for "improvements in automatic printing devices. . .whereby the printing is effected b the movement of the paper or fabric on which the printing is done" (lines 10-16).

Patent for new and useful improvements to corn husker and sheller machines

Patent for "a combination-tool seeking to provide a single implement so constructed and inscribed as to be useful to architects, draftsmen, millwrights, machinists, and all metal and wood workers, and which shall be light and convenient to carry and may be quickly adjusted to its different positions for use" (lines 8-14).

Patent for an improvement to the method of cleaning seeded cotton.

Patent for "improved means for conveying seed-cotton from wagons or store-houses to a series of gins, to clean it during its passage, and to avoid clogging the gins or the devices themselves by rapid feeding of the cotton" (lines 14-18).

Patent for "a durable and illexpensive planter which will serve to plant both corn and cotton in a perfect manner, and thus combine the two machines in one" (lines 11-14).

Patent for a new and improved water cooler. This design "consist[s] of the outer vessel having the removable cover provided centrally with an aperture, the inner vessel supported on legs centrally within the outer vessel and provided with perforated shelves, the keepers for locking the two vessels at a regulated distance apart concentric with each other, and the removable cap to the inner vessel provided with a vertical tube communicating with the interior of the inner vessel and passed through the space between the tops of the two vessels and through the central aperture in the cover" (lines 81-93).

Patent for a new and improved switch stand for dynamo stations. This design "is to provide a simple and efficient switch for introducing dynamos into an electric circuit and removing them therefrom . . . [The] invention consists in . . . outside circuit-wires . . . switch contacts arranged in pairs, there being as many pairs of such contacts as there are dynamos belonging to the circuit. It also consists[,] . . . with the pairs of contacts, of corresponding pairs of swinging arms, the arms of each pair being insulated from each other and adapted to engage the contacts of the outside circuit" (lines 14-27).

Patent for a new and improved tank. This design consists in "the combination of the wooden bottom having cross-braces on its under side, the sheet-metal bottom arranged over the wooden bottom and having an annular flange nailed or secured to said wooden bottom, and the metallic body, the lower end of which is connected to the bottom by nails, while the extreme lower edge of said body is turned under the wooden bottom between the cross-braces of the latter" (lines 80-90).

Patent for a saw-gin which when constructed can run all of its parts with a single belt, which reduces the need for space allowing for more gins to be used in the same amount of space.

Patent for "a new and improved filter which is simple and durable in construction and easily and conveniently cleaned without disturbing the gravel" (lines 13-17).

Patent for a new and improved saddle. This design consists in "the combination, with the divided tree and the shortened seat-leather, of the stirrup-leathers, which pass entirely across the tree in front of and abutting the front edge of the seat-leather, the upper surfaces of such abutting parts being flush" (lines 87-93).

Patent for "an improved attachment for the mold-boards and landsides of plows, the object being to furnish a plow or similar impliment with an attachable and removable covering for the landside and mold-board, which will prevent the adhesion of soil thereto" (lines 12-18).

Patent for a new and improved gas generator. This design "has for its object to improve the efficiency of that type of vapor generators and burners wherein oil and air pipes enter a casing having burner orifices and filled with an incombustible substance, which when heated vaporizes the oil" (lines 8-13).

Patent for an account book that is to be used "to receive in condensed form the dates and other particulars when sums are due to and from a person or firm are payable" (p. 2).

Patent for a new and improved cultivator. This design "relates to that class of walking-cultivators or shovel-plows which are drawn by a single horse between two rows of plants, and which are frequently called 'double-shovel plows.' The leading object of the invention is to provide such a cultivator with two beams, each carrying a shovel, which beams are independently capable of vertical and lateral movements, whereby the operator can guide or lift the beams and shovels to avoid plants or obstacles" (lines 11-22).

Patent for a new and improved cotton elevator. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a frame, a suction-pipe having one end bent downward to receive the seed cotton and the other end terminating in an upwardly-extending dust flue, and a suction-fan having its suction and discharge at the periphery, of a perforated screening-cylinder, an endless belt which co-acts with the cylinder to deflect the cotton into the discharge pipe, and a blowing-fan in the latter for forcing the seed-cotton to the gins" (lines 48-58).

Patent for "a cheap, durable, efficient, and simple brush adapted for use in cotton-gins, the parts of which may readily be assembled or detached for purposes of construction, renewal, replacement, or repair" (lines 9-14).
