Patent for an improvement in churn covers "which will embody a closed dead-air space above the body of the churn, a guide-tube for the dasher-rod, and the special construction at the outer edge of the base of the cover by which to provide a channel to fit upon the upper edge of the churn-body" (lines 10-15).

Post Hole Digger.
Patent for a new and improved post hole digger. This design has "the combination of the head, consisting of a ring having vertical dove-tailed recesses to receive the blades or cutters, and provided with converging arms uniting so as to form a shank" (lines 61-65). The result is "a convenient, serviceable, and inexpensive tool" (lines 12-13).
