The U + 4 - U02 ++ Couple in H2SO , and the U + S - u + 4 Couple in HCl

Technical report: Measurements have been made on the equilibrium between Cu, Cu2+, U4+, and UO22+ in H2SO4 in an attempt to establish the value of the U4+ - UO22+ couple potential. The value of the formal potential for the U3+ - U4+ couple in 1N HCl at 0 degrees C was determined to be + 0.65 v.

Corrosivity of Uranyl Fluoride to Certain Metals (open access)

Corrosivity of Uranyl Fluoride to Certain Metals

Abstract: "The results obtained from the tests conducted for the purpose of determining the corrosivity of a 30 percent-solution of uranyl fluoride to various metals indicate that stainless steels (type 302, 304, 321 and 316) have very good resistance; while monel, nickel and aluminum, respectively, exhibit diminishing resistance. Stainless steel, type 316, was the most resistant of the specimen tested."

Optimum Conditions for the "Hot Zone" Volatilization of TClâ‚„ (open access)

Optimum Conditions for the "Hot Zone" Volatilization of TClâ‚„

Abstract: "The data reported herein furnish a qualitative comparison of the rapidity of vaporization of TCl4 at various "hot zone" temperatures as well as a measure of the chlorine evolution attributed to its thermal decomposition. The presence of impurities in the TCl4 detracts from the significance of the reported chlorine evolution. The temperature recommended for rapid volatilization is 750 C at which TCl4 underwent thermal decomposition amounting to no more than 0.2% by weight."
