Bale-Tie.

Patent for a new and improved bale-tie that eliminates the need for buckles. This design achieves this with a hook and a U-shaped piece of iron to be riveted to the band, thus fastening the bale without buckles.

Patent for new and improved jail cells. This design calls for cell walls constructed of vertical sections secured by through-bolts, tubular bars for the concealment of the through-bolts, wooden corner-posts and sill and head timbers, and outer and main walls lined with sheet-iron (with narrow windows lined with chilled cast-iron) (paras. 15-19).

Patent for improvement of heating tables, "by steam to keep the meat and other articles at proper temperature. It consist more particularly in an arrangement of the steam-heating apparatus that will admit of its application to dining-tables, and will allow the plates of the diners and such of the dishes as may be desired being kept at the desired degree of warmth without necessitating the heating of warmth without the necessitating the heating of all the articles on the table."
