The investigation presented in this report was conducted for the purpose of determining the distribution and magnitude of water pressures likely to be experienced on seaplane hulls in service. It consisted of the development and construction of apparatus for recording water pressures lasting one one-hundredth second or longer and of flight tests to determine the water pressures on a UO-1 seaplane float under various conditions of taxiing, taking off, and landing. The apparatus developed was found to operate with satisfactory accuracy and is suitable for flight tests on other seaplanes. The tests on the UO-1 showed that maximum pressures of about 6.5 pounds per square inch occur at the step for the full width of the float bottom. Proceeding forward from the step the maximum pressures decrease in magnitude uniformly toward the bow, and the region of highest pressures narrows toward the keel. Immediately abaft the step the maximum pressures are very small, but increase in magnitude toward the stern and there once reached a value of about 5 pounds per square inch. (author).

Patent for an excavating machine specifically designed for canal digging, that "is an improvement upon a patent granted to Charles S. Butterfield, March 13, 197 and numbered 1,219,371" (lines 10-13). This invention provides a means for firm and stable support of the excavating machine and allows the position of the machine to be easily changed as the work progresses.

Patent for a new and improved condensed fertilizer formula that can be easily transported and is stable enough to be stored without appreciable deterioration, resulting in cost savings.

Patent for improvements to floating oil traps. Floating oil traps are used to catch excess oil floating on top of refinery discharge canals. These improvements include increased flexibility, thus allowing the trap to move with the flow of the water.

Patent for converting sodium sulfate to sodium sulfid, it is a process conversion of chemical compounds sodium sulfate to sodium sulfid.

Patent for the improvement of spring wheels. It is to prevent the movement of a car's rim or hub when sharp turns are being made.

Patent for stock feeder, for automatically feeding grain (or mill food) to stock (particularly hogs) with feeding troughs on opposite sides of oscillating storage hopper.

Patent for new and valuable improvements on bale-tie buckles for cotton bales. This relates to buckles securing ties on cotton bales and minimize injury to the persons handling the cotton.

Patent for Clothes Rack. This helps dry clothes indoors when the weather is bad outside.

Patent of the methods and compositions for reclaiming Gummer and Linter Files. The invention is used to reclaim the files used in sharpening linter saws that are used in cutting lint from cotton seed after the long fiber has been removed from the seed. This invention ensured cost effective reclaiming of the files instead of their reformation.

Patent for a new and improved pencil sharpener "which will be simple and inexpensive in manufacture, highly effective in use, durable in service, and a general improvement in the art" (lines 20-23), including illustrations.

Patent for the improvement of the process of forming individual foot forms or replicas of a person's specific foot. This alleviates a person having to go through the painful process of breaking in new shoes. The foot forms can then either be kept by the individual or by the shoe dealer for making future foot wear.

Patent for new and improved pump piston. This patent is accompanied by drawings and the object is to provide a pump piston wherein the the piston body proper is securely maintained against shifting upon the piston rod.
