Patent for a new and improved planter. This design "relates to a combined corn and cotton planter; and it has for its object to provide an improved hopper for containing the seed, and an improved slide or cut-off, and means for automatically operating the same" (lines 9-14).

Patent for a new and improved planter and fertilizer distributor. This design "consists in the combination and arrangement of parts, whereby the machine can be readily attached to and removed from a cultivator of any suitable description and used for planting seeds of different kinds and distributing guano at the same time that the seeds are being planted" (lines 15-22).

Patent for a new and improved adding machine. This design "consists in the combination, with a box, of a spindle in the same, a sleeve surrounding the spindle, a hand on the spindle, a hand on the sleeve, devices for turning the spindle from the sleeve, a cog-wheel revolving from the spindle, and an extra hand in connection with the cog-wheel" (lines 10-16).

Patent for a new and improved clock-chimes. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the chime of bells in the clock case, of the wheel having the lateral pins, the rock-shaft, a lever extending from the rock-shaft and engaging the said pins, and the hammer arms respectively connected with the rock-shaft by the short arm" (lines 21-26).

Patent for a new and improved clothes washer "in which air is driven by the action of a piston through the clothing and the water surrounding it"(lines 9-11), includes instruction and illustration

Patent for a new and improved coin sorter. This design "consists of a cabinet or coin-receptacle divided horizontally by a vertical series of drawers, each of which, except the lower one, is formed with a bottom that is provided with closely-set rows of circular openings that communicate with the drawers beneath, the openings in the bottom of each drawer being smaller than those in the bottom of the next drawer above, whereby the larger coins are retained in the upper drawer or drawers, while the smaller coins will pass successively through the several drawers to the bottom" (lines 15-27).

Patent for a new and improved brace-wire fastening for wire fences. This design consists "[i]n a fence, the combination, with the panel wires, of the braces with their ends hooked upon one and the same side of the upper and lower panel-wires, and said braces being stepped to receive and applied to the opposite side of the intermediate panel-wires, and the tri-armed or T-shaped clasps with their arms embracing the panel-wires and the braces at their points of intersection" (lines 81-89).

Patent for improvement to stock cars, "so constructed that the hay-racks swing up automatically and the troughs can be lowered to be out of the way when not in use and can easily be swung up when the animals are to be watered" (lines 8-13).

Patent for a new and improved curtain-holder. This design "has relation to that class of curtain-holders which are adapted to hold or clasp the lower part of a window-curtain, so as to hold it up against the window frame or casing when it is desired to spread the curtains apart, and has for its object to so construct a device of that class that the holding hook or catch which clasps the folds of the curtain may be turned down so as to be out of the way when the device is not in use" (lines 22-31).
