This design "relates to improvements in churn-powers in which suitable gearing and frame-work operate in conjunction with a vertically-reciprocating dasher; and the objects of [the] improvements are, first, to provide a spring-power and suitable gearing for operating the dasher, with a view to rendering the same in a high degree effective, convenient, and especially adapted to the requirements of service; and second, to afford facilities for the easy winding of the powerful spring required for such service" (lines 8-19).

Patent for an adjustable rubber foot pad or expander for horses. It can fit on any sized foot, does not put metal into contact with any sensitive parts of the foot, and can be worn for any type of travel. The parts can be easily replaced when they ear out. The pad can expand a contracted hoof naturally and easily.

Patent for a new and improved gate. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a gate, one of the rails whereof is about thrice as thick as the remainder of said rails, and is provided with a central groove along its upper face, of three supporting-posts, each having a recess furnished with a roller in its lower part, upon which the aforesaid rail may travel, a tongue projecting from the upper edge of said recess into the groove of said rail, and an upright attached to the central post, so as to form a guide retaining the gate in an erect position" (lines 47-57).

Patent for a new and improved cotton-seed planter. This design "is to promote accuracy and uniformity in the planting of cotton-seed and to secure the depositing of the seed in moist soil. The invention consists in the combination, with the frame, the drive-wheel, and the hopper, of gear-wheels connected to the drive-wheel, a shaft, a feed-screw working in the hopper, and a tube inclosing the rear part of the screw, whereby the seeds will be fed out one at a time by the advance of the machine" (lines 17-27).

Patent for a cotton-distributor that moves cotton from a wagon or storage and evenly and quickly distributes it to multiple gin feeders in a line.
