Patent for an automatic churn, which is an improvement to a previous churn, no. 39,532. It has a two-part cabinet, the top part equipped with a hinged top, a crank shaft, ratchet-wheel, spring pawl, and a tubular square pocket at the end of the crank-shaft. The square pocket is where one can attach a handle to operate the churn. The lower half of the cabinet opens on the side and contains the container, dasher-rod, and churn-dashers.

Patent for a nut-wrench capable of tightening different sized nuts. The lower jaw of the wrench has different levels, the overall effect being that of a staircase, while the upper jaw is flat with a bite that holds the nuts in place.

Patent for a weighing-scale that is "of simple and improved construction which will instantly determine and indicate the weight of the article placed thereon" (lines 13-16). The scale uses revolving disks that have a chain around them which moves a lever to indicate the weight of the object being weighed. The object being weighed sits on a pan that is suspended by the same chains that hold the revolving disks in place.

Patent for "lifting devices, and particularly to the mechanism adapted for use as a stump-puller and for elevating heavy weights, the object in view being to provide a simple and efficient construction and arrangement of parts whereby sufficient power for elevating heavy weights may be communicated to a rotary shaft or drum, and whereby the means communicating motion to the drum may be moved out of operative position and a brake simultaneously applied in order to relieve the operating-lever from strain when the mechanism is at rest." Patent for "axles for carriages, wagons, &c., and has for its object the construction of an axle in such a manner as to enable the spindle and stock to be removed and replaced by a new one when worn out without going to the expense and trouble of going to a blacksmith." Patent for a pump "whereby the pressure exerted upon the liquid in the pressure-pipe is alternately high and low, the high pressure being utilized to elevate the pump-rod, giving a rapid upstroke, and the low pressure to lower said rod gradually and insure a return flow of the liquid in the pressure-pipe." Patent for "a construction of propeller-wheel that will permit a large reduction in the wheel-diameter without impairing its effectiveness, and which will thereby bring the resistance nearer to the crank-range of the motive power, and also to increase the bucket or blade surface of the wheel and at the same time afford such clearance at the center of the wheel as will relieve resistance to easy operation of the engine or motive power." Patent for a square meant "to provide a simple and cheap steel square embodying also a level, an inclinometer, and mitrometer" (lines 13-15).

Patent for a pump that operates "a pump-rod designed especially to dispense with valves, valve-cages, or other impedimenta to the flow of liquid" (lines 40-44). It is capable of pumping liquids to elevated heights.

Patent for a hydraulic pump with "means for automatically supplying water to the pressure-pipe while the pump is working to replenish waste or leakage." (Lines 18-20) Includes instructions or illustrations.

Patent for "a new and useful packing-case for food products" (lines 13-14), particularly for cured meats. It protects "against flies, souring, shrinking, &c., than the ordinary forms of packing" (lines 20-21). It is made from metal, stamped into a packing-case.

Patent for "an improved plow of simple and inexpensive construction employing two shovels so arranged and attached that either one may be quickly and easily removed to convert the plow into either a right or left hand plow, and has for its further object to provide a plow especially designed for opening new ground wherein the plowing is rendered difficult by the presence of roots and similar growth" (lines 9-18).

Patent for a paper box that can be easily and securely locked. The ends of the box are locked into place with inwardly-curved edges, and slits receive the end portions of the inwardly -curved edges.

Patent for a tag that is glued to the board that cloth is wrapped around, forming a "bolt". This invention allows bolts of fabric to be labeled without damaging the fabric.

Patent for "a simple and inexpensive fire-dog adapted to be used in any ordinary open grate and capable of affording convenient means for cooking in an open fireplace." (Lines 10-13) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a gas-generator, especially generating acetylene, "with uniformity of flow of gas and at a uniform pressure" (lines 15-16). It is simple and can be constructed in many sizes. "This apparatus is especially adapted for generating gas and mixing it with air from that class of chemicals that generate gas from water by decomposition thereof and by affinity for oxygen or hydrogen" (lines 25-30).

Patent for a wrench that uses friction-rollers to clamp the thing that is being turned. A rotary ring-shaped cam is what actually turns the wrench's object, and there are teeth that surround the outside of the cam. A pawl, when turning the handle, turns the teeth. This is what makes the cam rotate.

Patent for "a culvert which shall be so constructed that the jarring caused by the passing of trains or wagons will not impair the solidity of the culvert." (Lines 14-17) Includes instructions and illustrations.
