Weevil-Exterminator
Patent for a new and useful improvement in weevil exterminators that provides a comparatively simple and effective apparatus for removing boll weevils from cotton plants. It also removes the injured or affect leaves and fruit that have been attacked by the boll weevil so that further injury to the plants may be prevented, and at the same time gather from the ground at the roots of the rows of cotton plants the leaves and rubbish detached from the plants.

Patent for improvements in rope-cutters by designing a “cutter having a slotted bracket with a lateral extension or bearing that has a longitudinal slot and a stop,” with a “combination of a lever-handle having a projecting knife-blade, registering with the slot in the bearing.” (Lines 81-86) This enable the rope to be cut in a single operation without sever the fibers.
