Patent for a “paint or stain, which, when applied, will harden on the common woods of commerce, render them durable and smooth, and give them the exact appearance of black walnut” (lines 15-18).

Patent for a new and improved clevis. This design "is to provide a clevis with a series of attaching-loops whereby the line of draft may be changed as circumstances may require, to bring the line of draft to either side of the plow-beam, or above or below the same, and to provide a clevis with a centrally-located attaching-loop, to be used where a direct or central draft is needed" (lines 11-18).

Patent for a new and improved planter. This design consists in "the combination, with the hopper and the seed-slide therein having one end projecting from one end of the hopper, of the reciprocating yoke having its rear portion angular in cross-section and its front portion cylindrical in cross-section and having an arm at one end to engage the opening in the projecting end of the seed-slide, the angular and cylindrical bearings for the respective parts of the yoke, whereby the latter may be unshipped from or attached to the seed-slide, and the mechanism to reciprocate the yoke" (lines 71-83).

Patent for a new and improved apparatus for killing ants. This design "consist[s] of frame, levers, pivoted arms, piston-rod, piston provided with valves and openings, air-tight iron chamber having opening pipe, furnace provided with double lid, lugs, pipe, clamp, and wedge . . . whereby the flame as well as the poisonous vapors are injected into the insect chambers" (lines 50-58).

Patent for a new and improved (sun) umbrella. This design utilizes an adjustable metal frame that can be attached to a piece of equipment (e.g., a tractor) or worn comfortably by a person. This allows for hands-free use while being protected from the sun and/or rain.

Patent for a new and improved insect trap. This design "relates to certain new and useful improvements in devices for distributing liquid poison on cotton and other plants to destroy insect life thereon; and it consists in the [novel] construction and arrangement of parts" (lines 14-18).

Patent for a new and improved ventilator. This design is "to provide a ventilator which shall automatically accommodate or turn the collecting-hood thereof to the direction in which the wind is blowing, to collect and conduct fresh pure air into buildings, cars, &c.; to provide means for regulating the distribution of the air to the compartments or different parts of the buildings, &c.; to diminish the friction and wear between the swiveled collecting-hood and its supporting devices whereby said hood and its attached vane are enabled to turn more freely and readily" (lines 17-29).

Patent for a new and improved gate. This design "has for its object to provide a device of this character which shall be cheap and simple in its construction, one that may be easily operated, and yet be positive in its engagement with the latch to prevent it from being opened by cattle, &c." (lines 8-14).

Patent for a new and improved street car. This design "has reference to the construction of steam and other street-cars, whereby the same can be readily turned around corners, having for its object the simplifying of the construction and lessening the cost of construction" of previous street cars (lines 22-27).

Patent for...a seed planting machine which improves upon an earlier cotton seed planting machine. The improved apparatus can be substituted for corn and other seeds. It may also be utilized for ground cultivation.

Patent for ventilated barrels for shipment of fruits, vegetables, meat, and other articles in order to remain fresh

Patent for a new type of plow granted to Anton Schindler.

Patent for a new and improved post-hole digger. This design "has for its object to provide a simple, durable, inexpensive, and efficient device, the levers of which can be readily separated, so that either of them can be used as a spade or shovel to fill in the earth around the post after it is placed in the hole" (lines 14-19).

Patent for a new and improved motor. This design consists "[i]n a fan motor, the V-shaped frame, the shafts journaled in the upper corners thereof, the ratchet-wheels and spur-wheels secured to said shafts, the spring-actuated pawls pivoted to the frame and engaging the ratchet-wheels, sleeves loose on shafts, and having the spur-wheels fast to said sleeves, the volute springs with their inner ends fast to shafts and their outer ends fast to wheels, the winding-shafts having the pinions engaging wheels, the shaft between [the other] shafts having the pinion, engaging wheels" (lines 19-30).

Patent for a machine used to plant cotton. Contains mechanisms for both plowing a furrow, planting seeds, and covering the seeds.

Patent for a new and improved sprinkler. This design consists in "[t]he combination of the L-shaped nozzle having the longer arm and the shorter arm, the spring-board secured to the side of the [shorter] arm and projecting over the end thereof, and provided with a boss on its upper side, the L-shaped bracket secured to the side of the [shorter] arm and having one end projecting over the spring-valve and provided with a screw-threaded opening, and the thumb-screw inserted through and playing in said opening and having its end swiveled in the boss of the spring-valve" (lines 84-95).

Patent for novel improvements in the construction or production of cotton or corn planters.

Patent for improvement to a cotton-chopper with a "mechanism for cultivating the soil between the hills as well as for bringing the said hills to a regular form" (lines 18-20).

Patent for a new and improved seed planter. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the seed-hopper and seed-slide, of the stationary catch and elastic spring-catch, both secured to the hopper and arranged to grasp the head of the brush" (lines 60-64).

Patent for a new and improved cotton cleaner and distributor. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the cylinder and drum, of a shaft mounted in bearings on the frame and extending through the said cylinder and provided with blades of varying length, a fan located in the drum, a pipe leading tangentially out from said drum, said pipe having openings formed therein, and guides secured on said pipe over said openings, said guides having wire sides" (lines 46-54).

Patent for a new and improved planter. This design, when used "as a corn-planter the slotted plate upon the inclined portion of the bottom is adjusted to cover the entire slot, and the pitman is attached to the pin projecting from the bar operating the seed slide, and when the machine is to be used as a cotton-planter the pitman is attached to the crank at the side of the seed-box, and the plate in the bottom of the box is adjusted so as to give the slot sufficient width to allow the cotton-seed to be forced through it" (lines 84-94).

Patent for a new and improved planter. This design "relates to the construction of a planter so arranged that by simply shifting the connection between the corn-slide and the crank-arm of an agitator the device may be adjusted to act as a planter of corn or cotton, but a single connecting-rod being employed in connection with a single driving crank-shaft to operate the planter both as a cotton and a corn planter" (lines 8-16).
