Denton Plan 2030

Glasstire: Visual Art News and Reviews

This is the official website for Glasstire, an online magazine that covers visual art in Texas and Southern California. Founded in 2001, Glasstire was one of the earliest online art journals in the United States. It is a non-profit publication supported in part by grants from The Houston Endowment, The Brown Foundation, the the National Endowment for the Arts, the Greater Houston Community Foundation, the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance, and the Texas Commission for the Arts. Official Site of America's 400th Anniversary

This website is for the commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the settling of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1607. Jamestown 2007, an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, worked with local, state and national groups to stage the commemoration of America’s 400th Anniversary. The commemoration began in May 2006 and continued through 2007 with a series of national and international signature events commemorating aspects of the Jamestown story. Some of the events included were the 2006 Godspeed Sail, the Virginia Indian Conference, the 225th Anniversary of the Victory at Yorktown, the Jamestown Live! webcast, the Jamestown: 400 Years in Retrospect panel, and America's Anniversary Weekend. The website contains recaps of all the events that took place during the celebration, photo galleries, press releases, published reports on all the events, and other additional resources.

National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Spill and Offshore Drilling

This website is for the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil SpilUnited States. Office of Fossil Energyl and Offshore Drilling, established by President Barack Obama on May 21, 2010. The Commission examined the relevant facts and circumstances concerning the root causes of the Deepwater Horizon explosion and developed options to guard against, and mitigate the impact of, any oil spills associated with offshore drilling in the future. This included recommending improvements to federal laws, regulations, and industry practices. The website contains detailed information about each of the commission's meetings, the commission's final reports, and other related resources.

Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction

This is the website for the Office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction. SIGIR provides oversight for Iraq reconstruction programs and operations. Specifically, SIGIR is mandated with the oversight responsibility of the use, and potential misuse, of the Iraq Relief and Reconstruction Fund (IRRF) and all obligations, expenditures, and revenues associated with reconstruction and rehabilitation activities in Iraq. SIGIR reports administratively to the Secretaries of State and Defense and provides quarterly and semi-annual reports directly to the U.S. Congress. The website includes all the quarterly and semi-annual reports submitted to Congress, as well as other reports about audits, investigations, inspections, and evaluations. Additionally, it includes a video archive and statements of testimonies before the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate committees.

Commission on Long-Term Care

This is the website for the federal Commission on Long-Term Care. Established as part of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 and signed into law January 2, 2013, the commission's goal was to advise Congress on how comprehensive, high-quality long-term care can be better provided and financed for the nation's older adults and people with disabilities. The Commission is composed of 15 members of the Senate and House of Representatives and released its final report on September 18, 2013. The website includes the final report, all relevant press releases, and transcripts and other materials related to its public hearings.
