Center front opening with 4 self-covered buttons and 5 snaps at waist. Lined in light pink organdy with black grosgrain ribbon petersham having a single hook & eye closure. Designer's label at inside right seam: "Balenciaga / 10, Avenue George V. Paris" Couture number: "105668" b) Skirt of ivory circle eyelet gazar. Full length, slight A-line. Left side opening with snap closure and two hook & eyes on 1/2" waistband of self. Lined in ivory silk crepe. c) Sash of pink organdy. Seven inches wide; cut on bias. Double layered with open ends.

Cloche-style hat of blue/gray feathers. The crown of the hat is made of dark blue mesh overlaid with a mosaic of blue/gray feathers. Brimless, the lower edge of the crown arcs upwards at front and slightly in back. The hat is lined in the mesh, and has an inner hatband at the lower inside edge of the crown. Designer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Made In / France", "Christian Dior / Paris"

Cloche style hat of rust colored fur felt. Black velvet trim with self-covered button on left side of crown. Lower edge of inside crown trimmed with black velvet. Unlined with black grosgrain headband. Retailer's label on inside hatband: "The Halle Bros. Co." Inside crown stamped: "Musketeer / Imported Body / Made in Austria" Size tag on inside hatband: "22"

Modified cloche hat of dark blue velour. The oval body of the cloche is designed to be worn cross-wise on head, with one side dipping lower than the other. The sides are decorated with star motifs in dark blue sequins, beads and velvet circlets. Unlined, with inner hatband of black grosgrain ribbon and edged with a dark purple(?) band. Designer's and Retailer's combined label: "Hattie Carnegie / Inc / Original / Expressly for / Neiman-Marcus" Stamp on inside crown illegible.

Cloche hat of navy blue felt. The hat is designed with a domed crown, and a "brim" of three horizontally pleated bands of the same felt extending upwards along the crown at front and sides.

Cloche-style hat of off-white fur felt with black and white checkered fur at brim and bow.

Pillbox-style hat of black velvet and braid. The cylindrical crown is higher at front, and slightly domed at top. Around top and base of crown are running bands of black braid forming a series of loops, within each of which is a free-swinging black braid-covered ball. Lined in black mesh(?) and with an inner hatband of black grosgrain ribbon around the inside lower edge of crown. A small stitched mark on hatband indicates the front of the hat. Designer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Hattie Carnegie". The hat is accompanied by a short hatpin with black bead head.

Pillbox hat of golden yellow/brown fur felt. The cylindrical crown is slightly domed at top, and the sides slant slightly outwards to base. At left side, near front, is a "brush" of golden yellow/brown "feather-hay", held in place by a line of rhinestones which curves at each end. Hat is lined in tan fabric with printed designs in one quadrant. Inner hatband of brown/yellow/tan grosgrain ribbon. Evidence of holes to attach combs at each side to secure hat to wearer's head, now missing. Designer's label inside at back edge: "Sue Dooley / Dallas"

Pillbox hat of black satin with veil. Sides of crown with horizontally pleated waves of self material. Large brooch at center front with rhinestones as trim. Black net veil with snaps at ends for securing hat to wearer's head. Lined in black, diamond patterned material. No labels.

Pillbox hat of red felt. The cylindrical crown is flat at top, and encircled by matching material gathered and scrunched to create horizontal wrinkles around the crown. Set off to front right side is rosette/spiral of red feather. Lined in a silvery/gold and black fabric, and with a red grosgrain inner hatband. Maker's label inside: "Dolly Madison"

Pillbox hat of brown velvet. The cylindrical crown is flat at top, and has slight horizontal protruding "ribs" at sides. Lined in a cream satin-finish fabric, the hat has an inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Retailer's label: "Neiman-Marcus"

Pillbox hat of navy blue velvet trimmed around edge with blue/purple iridescent beads which form swirls on crown. Grosgrain inner headband with comb for securing hat to wearer's head.

Pillbox hat of black cotton(?). The cylindrical crown is mostly flattened at top, with diamond-shaped patches of same fabric attached at sides, overlapping top and bottom. Patches are outlined in black faceted beads. The hat is lined in black fabric, and has inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Designer's label inside: "Design By / d. charles"
