Hat of beige straw. The low, slightly domed crown is of woven medium beige straw. Around the crown is wrapped a wide horizontally pleated/ruched band of cream organza, secured at one side with a large "pin" wrapped in yellow grosgrain. From the pin hang two circular metal charms, each with rhinestone border and each with a relief depicting a woman in wide, standing, lace collar. The moderate width brim is of the same woven straw, set slightly off-center so that there is more brim at front and sides than at back. The brim is turned up on all sides. Unlined with a headband of golden yellow velvet. Combs at sides for securing hat to head. Aqua knit sweater with matching gloves. A) Shrink style sweater: Sleeveless aqua colored fine wool knit sweater with wide rounded neckline. Scalloped aqua flannel collar embellished with sequins, beads and gold metallic thread embroidery. Narrow band of gathers between breasts. Bust darts. Wide ribbed waistband. Retailer's label at inside back collar: Allardale / Beverly Hills, California Size tag: 14 B-C) Gloves of matching aqua colored fine wool knit with aqua flannel gauntlets. The gauntlets are embroidered to match the collar of the sweater.

Hatlet of deep red satin. The close, curved crown is formed as a band that is worn across the wearer's head from ear to ear. The band is edged with a wide band of narrow pleated deep red satin, with ends that extend beyond the crown, forming crossed ends at sides. Lined in the same deep red satin, and with a deep red grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. Designer's label: "Amy New York"

Two-piece gray faille moire wool and nylon suit. Jacket is long, with wide notched collar, is double breasted, has bound button holes, and buttons below waist. It has a sculptural double-breasted front panel, that maintains a vertical linear center front, rounded shape visually flanks stomach area. The skirt is straight; slightly below knee length.

Hat of muted violet straw. Styled somewhat as a sailor hat, the 2 1/2" conical crown is flattened at top and has slightly sloping sides. Encircling the base of the crown is a 3/4" wide hatband of twisted muted cerise pink and purple velvet ribbons. At front of crown is a cluster of four velvet roses, two violet, two cerise with green leaves. Mounted above the roses is a violet velvet wrapped stand-up ornament with small bow at top, slightly to left of center front crown. The 4" wide flat brim has a narrow magenta velvet rolled band on underside of the outer edge. Unlined with a purple grosgrain ribbon headband. Elastic band for securing hat to head. Dark red silk faille afternoon dress, princess lines - fuller in back. Natural waist line. Fly front zipper opening but covered at waist with intricately cut huge self bow that fastens at side creating the look of a wrap front closure. V-neck, small collar, 3/4 sleeves. Hat of brown lace and beads. The beret-style hat is formed as a low crown of brown lace decorated with bronze-colored beads in loops and strings. The hat is lined in white net, and has an inner hatband of dark brown grosgrain ribbon. A stitched "star" on the inner hatband indicates the front of the hat, and two attached small plastic combs help secure the hat to wearer's head. Joint designer's/retailer's label is sewn to inner hatband: "Hattie Carnegie / Inc / Original / expressly for / Neiman Marcus"

Sailor-style hat of tan straw and brown yarn. The "crushable" hat has a tan/brown straw crown, slightly domed, with base of brown crocheted yarn. The circular brim, set off-center to the crown, is of double-thickness. The join between the crochet band and the brim has inner brown grosgrain ribbon hatband. Designer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Hattie Carnegie / Inc / Original" When not worn, or padded, the had "deflates" or "crushes" down, the crocheted section not significantly supporting the crown.

Hat of straw and velvet. The short, cylindrical crown is of woven natural-colored straw, with off-center "peak". The crown is edged along top with a narrow band of orange velvet. The sides of the crown are covered in black velvet, and there is an inner band of black velvet-covered straw that extends below the sides of the crown. The hat is unlined, with an inner hatband of black grosgrain ribbon. On the band, a small sewn start designates the front of the hat. Designer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Hattie Carnegie / Custom Made", and with a (later?) price tag attached. Accompanied by a short hatpin, the head covered with woven straw matching the hat.

Day ensemble. a) Cape of light brown wool. Openings at sides for arms, long strips of self at center front. Mostly unlined, except for near shoulders in navy and white polka-dotted silk. b) Blouse of black jersey with dotted silk scarf and cuffs. Long sleeves. Surplice construction with wrap secured at neckline with covered button. Side zipper closure. Unlined. c) Skirt of black jersey, mid-calf length, front center tacked to create small gather.

Hat of light tan fur felt. Cylindrical crown, flattened at top, encircled at base by wide tan grosgrain ribbon with bow at right side. Wide brim is "crunched", turned down, and turned under.
