Dress of navy blue wool jersey. a) Day dress of navy wool jersey. White linen detachable collar connects to neckline with snaps. Below knee length with A-line skirt. White linen 7/8" bias strip at edge of center front opening that extends 7 1/2" below waist. Thirteen 3/4" pearl buttons with gold edge and bound buttonholes; buttons separate at waistline to accommodate belt. Long sleeves with 1-3/4" slit at seam. 3" deep pleat in skirt at side front and back. Concealed slit pockets in side seams. Unlined. Designer's label on inside left seam: "Norman Norell / New York" b) Belt of 3" wide white patent leather, slightly curved, with large circular gold buckle. Not original to garment. Evidence of small cords at side seams, which Norell usually used to attach cloth belts, or thin belt-loops. This belt would not have fit. Retailer's stamp on reverse: "I Magnin / 30 Calderon 5938"

Dress in shift style of black silk. Collar of white silk is folded over front neckline giving a modified cowl look. Center back opening with 7 self-covered button and bound buttonholes; closure reinforced with covered snaps. Long set-in sleeves flair slightly to wide, rolled back cuffs of white silk. Pointed collar and a center front opening that forms a low V neckline closed with two snaps. Unlined. Handwritten tag at center back neckline: "Deborah / 769" B) Pants in harlow style. Full length with extra wide legs. Center back zipper closure with hook & eye and 2-1/2" waistband. Navy silk lining swing tacked to the bottom of the pants hem. Ensemble of turquoise blue linen. a) Day dress of turquoise blue linen. Set-in waistline. Sleeveless with wide armholes designed to show side panels of camisole under dress. Below knee length. Shallow, wide rounded bateau neckline slightly lower in back. Center back closure of three self-covered buttons with snap and bound buttonholes cut on a slant. Zippers at left and right with hook & eyes. Lined in matching turquoise blue silk. Combined designer/retailer label on inside lining at right seam near hem: "Norman Norell for Neiman-Marcus" b) Camisole of white silk satin with turquoise blue linen side panels. Narrow shoulder straps of white organdy. Center back zipper closure. c) Stole of turquoise blue linen; 12-3/8" x 50". d) Narrow tie belt of turquoise blue linen; 7/8" x 62-1/2".

A) Blouse of soft blue denim. Styled as a vest, the blouse is of pale blue, very soft denim. No sleeves, center front opening with 4 circular buttons resembling obsidian (silvery to black as light changes). At each side the side seams overlap and are open from hem partway up blouse to allow access to under layers which contain slit pockets. Blouse is lined with white fabric printed with all-over repeat of Mr John signature/logo. No other label in blouse. B) Matching belt of same fabric. Designed as an exaggerated cummerbund, widening at center and narrowing to long straps at ends. Center section with row of 17 large circular brass/gilt metal grommets. Designer's label sewn to inside of center section: "Mr. John"

Dress of medium brown cashmere; slight ring collar; knee-length; 2 slanted flap pockets at hips.

Cocktail or short evening dress of ivory crocheted lace over pink satin back shantung with pink self belt. Machine made lace of Venetian type with re-embroidered medallions. Dress with natural waistline, bateau neckline, sleeveless and slightly full skirt. Back zipper with hook & eye. Weighted hem. Has been altered at waist (cut) to shorten. Atypical of Norell. Designer's label at center back hem: "Norman Norell / New York" Union label on opposite side of seam from designer's label (most cut off).

Suit of ecru woven tussah (wild) silk consisting of 3 pieces: Size 10 A) Jacket of a slightly textured ecru/pale tan Tussah silk. Notched shawl collar, long sleeves with non-function single button at each cuff matching, center front opening with 5 circular mother of pearl buttons which are actually two buttons, a smaller stacked on a larger - cuff buttons are same. Two pockets, one at each hip. Hem, edges of opening, pocket flaps, sleeve hems, collar all slightly padded. Lined in cream silk printed with Mr. John logo in gold. B) Skirt of matching fabric. Knee-length or slightly longer. Pencil skirt, Slightly gathered/pleated into ecru grosgrain ribbon waistband. Two zippers, one at each hip. Lined in same fabric as jacket, with Mr. John logo in gold. C) blouse of matching fabric. Square neckline. Sleeveless. Lined in same fabric as skirt, with Mr. John logo. No labels in any of the pieces, but all with the Mr. John logo fabric.

Coat dress of pale blue wool. Below-knee length, with mandarin collar and center front opening with 11 self-covered round buttons with bound buttonholes, a hidden snap at throat, and a hook-and-eye at waist. Long sleeves. Skirt gathered into waistband, and with two slit pockets at seams. Torso fully lined in light blue silk(?). Designer's label: "Norman Norell / New York" B) Tie belt of matching fabric. Belt originally attached at side seams by thin cords, detached on one side, likely to detach from other side soon.
