Ensemble - Coat Dress and Skirt

Ensemble consisting of a charcoal gray wool tweed coat dress and skirt. A) Street dress of charcoal gray wool tweed. Center front opening with eight large, circular, black plastic buttons and bound buttonholes. Three quarter raglan sleeves. Turndown collar. Yoked shoulders slightly gathered in back. Below knee length. Lined in black silk faille. Retailer's label at inside back neckline: "Neiman-Marcus" B) Skirt with waist panel of black silk and lower panel of charcoal gray wool tweed. Skirt is slightly gathered where waist panel meets lower panel. Overall effect is of a straight skirt. Center back opening with two hook & eyes on waistband as closure. Lower portion of skirt is lined in same black silk as waist panel. Retailer's label on inside center back seam of lining: "Neiman-Marcus"

Cocktail dress with black, cotton knit bodice and full, chocolate brown silk faille skirt. Bodice has long sleeves with zippered wrists. Center back zipper closure with hook & eye. Stand up, mandarin collar. Bodice forms V at center front, gathered waist. Lined in black organdy with built in petticoats of black tulle. Dress of heavy beige wool tweed in the form of a modified cape. A) Dress inspired by Norell's capes. Mid-length, with rounded, jewel neckline. Slit openings for arms. Two large patch pockets at front. Center back closure with 5 large circular self-covered buttons, bound buttonholes, and two hidden snaps at collar. Opening stops 14" from lower hem. Lined with beige silk crepe. B) Slip of beige silk crepe. Mid-length. Wide shoulder straps with square neckline. Center back zipper closure with hook & eye. Combined designer's/retailer's label sewn inside at back near hem, above split: "Neiman-Marcus Dallas / Traina-Norell".

Sheath dress

Belted sheath dress A) Daytime sheath-style dress of natural silk with bateau neckline. Sleeveless. Fly opening at center back neckline with two large abalone buttons with bound buttonholes reinforced with snaps. Two large patch pockets placed low on hips which wrap around side seams from front to back. Knee length. Fitting darts at bust. Lined in natural colored silk. Combined retailer and designer label: "Neiman-Marcus Dallas / Traina-Norell" B) Matching 4 inch wide belt of self fabric. False closure on front right trimmed with two large abalone buttons. Day dress of gray silk douppoini. Straight silhouette that falls loose in back. Elbow length set-in sleeves. Jewel neckline with placket that runs around neckline and down center front opening with 4 self covered buttons and bound buttonholes supplemented with a snap at the neckline. Street length. Back lined in gray silk. b) Slide belt of white crushed leather with oval buckle covered in self. Belt fits into slits at side seams of dress so that back hangs loose and is belted across front.

Evening dress

Evening dress of floral appliquéd gray tulle and organza. A) Dress: fitted bodice with asymmetrical one-shoulder neckline. The neckline consists of an applied panel of gray organza that begins at the left hip line, curves upward, arching over the left breast and then shaping over the right shoulder forming a cap sleeve. The panel extends from the shoulder down to the left side of the back neckline. The applied panel is heavily appliquéd with padded velvet flowers. The colors lavender, pale green and peach predominate in the appliqués. The fitted, strapless, boned bodice front is detailed with diagonally placed knife pleats. The back is asymmetrically pieced. Left side seam zipper closure with a hook & loop at the neckline, waist and hip line. Natural waist seam with asymmetrical hip-length yoke and full, full-length skirt. The yoke angles diagonally from the left hip to the right mid-thigh. The front of the yoke is diagonally pleated repeating the bodice front. The back is vertically pleated. The full skirt consists of a layer of knife pleated gray organza over a layer of gathered gray organza. Maifest dress

Maifest ballgown of lemon yellow organza, polonaised. Fitted princess-line bodice with narrow shoulder straps and shaped neckline. Decorative shoulder straps of gathered mustard green and moss green velvet ribbon. Floral accent over the left breast consisting of a pink rose and blue cornflower with lemon yellow velvet and organza leaves. The velvet shoulder straps extend to the overskirt. As they cross the bodice they follow the princess seams and are encased in ruched lemon yellow organza. These casings run from the top of the bustline to waistlevel. Centerback zipper closure from midback to hiplevel. The princess-line bodice extends to a dropped yoke. Hiplevel seam with a full, gathered and swagged polonaise overskirt of lemon yellow organza. The velvet shoulder straps carry down through the overskirt running through wide ruched casings at the apex of the swags. They emerge at the hem of the overskirt as large looped bows with tails. The casing areas are accented with floral clusters of pink roses, yellow organza roses, violets and lavender cornflowers with yellow velvet leaves.
