Two large patch pockets at side seams. Lined in red silk crepe. Combined designer/retailer label at center back neckline: "Bonwit Teller New York / Traina-Norell" B) Skirt of red velvet. Street length, straight with two patch pockets at sides. 1" waistband with center back closure of four self covered buttons and bound buttonholes. Unlined. C) Blouse of brown satin. Notched collar with exaggerated point. Center front opening with one self covered button imitating a cufflink at bust line and snap near hem. Long sleeves with French cuffs and slit. Bound buttonholes with buttons or cufflinks missing.

Evening Pumps
Pair of evening pumps of black satin with silver kidskin leather embellishments. The shoes are designed with rounded toes, with uppers cut back at sides to almost form D'Orsay style pumps. The uppers are edged in silver kidskin leather, and the single ankle strap is of same leather, fastening on outside edge with single domed white glass button. Applied to back and heels of shoes are silver kidskin leather cut-outs of floral form. 2" heels are somewhat set-in, and taper slightly to base. Stamped inside: "Made For / Peacock Shop / Kansas City, MO. Handwritten inside: "X29133 / 32"

Cocktail Hat
Cocktail or evening hat covered with blue-green-blackish iridescent coque feathers. Hat is based on a pillbox style crown, conical, with flattened top. The entire surface is covered with overlapping feathers. Rising from the center of the crown is a spray of brown horsehair and high standing feathers. Dinner Gown
Dinner gown of red velvet. The full-length dress is of deep red velvet, embroidered in black to form an all-over pattern of "fish scales". Neckline is rounded, higher in front than back, and has full-length sleeves with a modified leg-of-mutton effect at the shoulders and zipper closures at wrists. The bodice is seamed, and has a natural waistline. The neckline, waistline, and upper part of sleeves/shoulders are edged in black cording/braid. Skirt is slightly gathered into the waistline braid. Center back zipper closure with hook-and-eye closure at neck. Small panel lining front of bodice at bust, the rest of the gown unlined. No label sewn in garment, but retains original paper tag: obverse: "Vera Maxwell / Original"; reverse: "Vera Maxwell / Original / Fibre Content / 100% Wool / Style 121 / Size [blank] / Mat. [blank] / Account No. [blank]". This gown is one of the "Dance Hall Girl" dresses from Ms. Maxwell's Southwest American Collection.

Cocktail Ensemble of beige chiffon. A) Cocktail dress. Short, knee-length or slightly longer, sleeveless dress with narrow straps. Rounded neckline with self ruffle edging. Chiffon of bodice is gathered at neckline, vertical at front, but rounding to horizontal at back. Skirt has knife-pleating from natural waistline to hips, the pleats opening from hips and falling softly to hem. Center back zipper closure on main dress, with series of 4 snap closures below waist on pleated outer skirt. The skirt portion is formed as a pleated overskirt of chiffon over an inner silk crepe inner sheath, which has a wide ruffle of crepe at hem. Designer's label: "Christian Dior-New York Inc" Retailer's label: "Neiman-Marcus". B) Sheer jacket, short, almost cropped, of doubled chiffon with long sleeves and self-ruffle trim around edges of cuffs, neckline, center front opening and hem. No label. Ensemble of multi-color abstract/impressionistic foliage in green, orange, blue, lavender, and gold, consisting of: a) Day dress in sheath style, sleeveless, with a wide, rounded neckline.
