Calf-length(? - depends on petticoats), with a small modified "Peter Pan" turn-down collar, which has attached front bias bands to tie into bow at front of collar. 3/4-length set-in sleeves. Center front opening with 16 black circular plastic buttons, hidden snaps at waist and throat, and hook-and-eye at waist. Full, flaring skirt with 13 gores. Unlined. Street ensemble of wool and jersey. A) Jacket of medium-gray wool. Long raglan sleeves, with turned-back cuffs revealing the lining material. Center front opening with line of 5 gray pearl buttons. Notched collar outlined with flannel, which reveals lining material. Two welt pockets, one on each side of front opening. Jacket is fully lined in black and white woven jersey. Designer's label at right inside side seam: "Vera Maxwell / Original" B) Blouse of the same black and white woven jersey used as jacket lining. Wrap style, with long ties which wrap around waist and tie at front. Long sleeves. Inner edges finished with light gray ribbon band. C)Skirt of same fabric as blouse.
