Ensemble of turquoise blue linen. a) Day dress of turquoise blue linen. Set-in waistline. Sleeveless with wide armholes designed to show side panels of camisole under dress. Below knee length. Shallow, wide rounded bateau neckline slightly lower in back. Center back closure of three self-covered buttons with snap and bound buttonholes cut on a slant. Zippers at left and right with hook & eyes. Lined in matching turquoise blue silk. Combined designer/retailer label on inside lining at right seam near hem: "Norman Norell for Neiman-Marcus" b) Camisole of white silk satin with turquoise blue linen side panels. Narrow shoulder straps of white organdy. Center back zipper closure. c) Stole of turquoise blue linen; 12-3/8" x 50". d) Narrow tie belt of turquoise blue linen; 7/8" x 62-1/2".

"Deborah" pants ensemble

Pants suit in navy blue silk with satin weave horizontal stripes. A) Blouse. Long, set-in sleeves with 2 self-covered buttons and bound buttonholes on 2-1/2" cuffs. Pointed collar and a center front opening that forms a low V neckline closed with two snaps. Unlined. Handwritten tag at center back neckline: "Deborah / 769" B) Pants in harlow style. Full length with extra wide legs. Center back zipper closure with hook & eye and 2-1/2" waistband. Navy silk lining swing tacked to the bottom of the pants hem. Handwritten tag at center front waistband: "Deborah / 769"

Skirt suit

Suit in navy wool trimmed in flat black cording. A) Jacket of navy blue wool with woven, checked pattern. Double breasted with eight black fabric covered buttons and four bound buttonholes. Notched collar. Collar and center front of jacket trimmed with black flat cording. Long sleeves with turned-back cuffs trimmed with black flat cording and two small black fabric covered buttons each with two bound buttonholes. Two pockets trimmed in matching cording. Lined in blue silk. Combined designer/retailer label at center back neckline: "Neiman-Marcus Dallas / Traina-Norell" B) Skirt of navy blue wool with woven, checked pattern. A-line and knee length with nine panel construction. 1 1/2" waistband with left side zipper and four hook & eye closure. Unlined.

Dress in shift style of black silk. Collar of white silk is folded over front neckline giving a modified cowl look. Center back opening with 7 self-covered button and bound buttonholes; closure reinforced with covered snaps. Long set-in sleeves flair slightly to wide, rolled back cuffs of white silk. Hemline trimmed with 2" band of self. Lined in black silk. Designer's label at left of back opening: "Norman Norell / New York" Retailer's label at left of back opening: "Lou Lattimore / Dallas"

Skirt suit

Suit of chocolate brown wool. A) Jacket of chocolate brown wool. Double breasted with six circular dark chocolate brown buttons and bound buttonholes and one hidden covered snap. Princess seaming. Bracelet length sleeves with 2 smaller matching, functioning buttons and bound buttonholes. Collar has squared corners. Side flap pockets. Collar, opening, sleeves and pockets trimmed in black binding. Lined in matching brown silk with weighted hem. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Norman Norell / New York" Retailer's label at center back neckline: "Marie Leavell" Retailer's label of donor's shop at center back neckline: "Howard Wolf / Dallas * New York" B) Skirt in matching chocolate brown wool. Knee-length, slight A-line with 1" waistband having three hooks and eyes at left side above side zipper. Hidden inside slit pockets at hips, one partly created by side zipper/flap. Lined in matching silk. Lining of side slit pockets are weighted. No labels in skirt, other than "Front" label inside waistband to indicate front.

Day dress

Dress of navy blue wool jersey. a) Day dress of navy wool jersey. White linen detachable collar connects to neckline with snaps. Below knee length with A-line skirt. White linen 7/8" bias strip at edge of center front opening that extends 7 1/2" below waist. Thirteen 3/4" pearl buttons with gold edge and bound buttonholes; buttons separate at waistline to accommodate belt. Long sleeves with 1-3/4" slit at seam. 3" deep pleat in skirt at side front and back. Concealed slit pockets in side seams. Unlined. Designer's label on inside left seam: "Norman Norell / New York" b) Belt of 3" wide white patent leather, slightly curved, with large circular gold buckle. Not original to garment. Evidence of small cords at side seams, which Norell usually used to attach cloth belts, or thin belt-loops. This belt would not have fit. Retailer's stamp on reverse: "I Magnin / 30 Calderon 5938"
