A new synthetic route for the preparation of [Os3(CO)10(μ-OH)(μ-H)] and its reaction with bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm): syntheses and X-ray structures of two isomers of [Os3(CO)8(μ-OH)(μ-H)(μ-dppm)] and [Os3(CO)7(μ3-CO)(μ3-O)(μ-dppm)]
Article describes a convenient synthetic method for the preparation of the hydroxy-bridged triosmium cluster [Os₃(CO)₁₀(μ-OH)(μ-H)] along with the re-evaluation of the reaction of this cluster with dppm that has led to the isolation of a new isomer for [Os₃(CO)₈(μ-OH)(μ-H)(μ-dppm)].

Calculation of the Vapour Pressure of Organic Molecules by Means of a Group-Additivity Method and Their Resultant Gibbs Free Energy and Entropy of Vaporization at 298.15 K
Article presenting the calculation of the vapour pressure of organic molecules at 298.15 K using a commonly applicable computer algorithm based on the group-additivity method. The standard entropy of vaporization ΔS°vap has been determined and compared with experimental data of 1129 molecules, exhibiting excellent conformance with a correlation coefficient R2 of 0.9598, a standard error σ of 8.14 J/mol/K and a medium absolute deviation of 4.68%.

Childhood Asthma and Smoking: Moderating Effect of Preterm Status and Birth Weight
Article exploring the association between second-hand smoke exposure, asthma, and asthma severity in children ages 6-17 as well as the effect of birth weight and prematurity (BWP) on parental smoking and asthma. Results indicate that focused asthma interventions in children should inquire about BWP status as well as parental smoking and household smoke exposure to reduce asthma morbidity and mortality.

Phylogenetic Occurrence of the Phenylpropanoid Pathway and Lignin Biosynthesis in Plants
This article is a review summarizing recent progress in defining the lignin biosynthetic pathway in lycophytes, monilophytes, gymnosperms, and angiosperms. This review provides new insights into the genetic engineering of the lignin biosynthetic pathway to overcome biomass recalcitrance in bioenergy crops.

Role of ribosomal RNA released from red cells in blood coagulation in zebrafish and humans
This article identifies that an rRNA released in hemolysis activates clotting in human and zebrafish plasma. Furthermore, it shows that fish Hgfac plays a role in rRNA-mediated activation of coagulation.

A Highly Contiguous and Annotated Genome Assembly of the Lesser Prairie-Chicken (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus)
Article asserts that the Lesser Prairie-Chicken (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus; LEPC) is an iconic North American prairie grouse, renowned for ornate and spectacular breeding season displays, a species that has been declining in population across much of its historical range, with corresponding precipitous declines in contemporary population abundance, largely due to climatic and anthropogenic factors. The authors describe an annotated reference genome that was generated from a LEPC sample collected from the southern DPS.

First-principles property assessment of hybrid formate perovskites
Article discusses how hybrid organic–inorganic formate perovskites, AB(HCOO)3, are a large family of compounds that exhibit a variety of phase transitions and diverse properties, such as (anti)ferroelectricity, ferroelasticity, (anti)ferromagnetism, and multiferroism. While many properties of these materials have already been characterized, the authors seek to focus on the comprehensive property assessment of a large number of formate perovskites.

ARKENSTONE – I. A novel method for robustly capturing high specific energy outflows in cosmological simulations
Article describes how ARKENSTONE is a new model for multiphase, stellar feedback-driven galactic winds designed for inclusion in coarse resolution cosmological simulations. In this first paper of a series, the authors describe the features that allow ARKENSTONE to properly treat high specific energy wind components and demonstrate them using idealized non-cosmological simulations of a galaxy with a realistic circumgalactic medium (CGM) using the AREPO code.

Time-resolved systems analysis of the induction of high photosynthetic capacity in Arabidopsis during acclimation to high light
Article describes how induction of high photosynthetic capacity is a key acclimation response to high light for many herbaceous dicot plants. Here, a systems biology approach was utilized to characterize the induction of high photosynthetic capacity in strongly and weakly acclimating Arabidopsis thaliana accessions.
