Recording of the Mizos of Tezpur singing in Tezpur, Assam. These songs are in the zaikhawm hla style, which is a group singing style. zai means "to sing", khawm means "together," hla means "song". This type of music is often sung after a big meal or event, such as funerals or Christmas celebrations. People often get up and dance during these performances. . A second drum can also be heard.
