One wheel is jacked up, and the three visible wheels have chains for traction. In the background can be seen at left the main front (east) side of the Library Building, and to the right the Science Building. The Library Building was constructed in 1912-13 as the first Library on campus. After 1940 it was known as the Historical Building, and in 1990-91 was renamed the O.J. Curry Building. The Science Building was constructed in 1910, and remained in use until 1967, when it was torn down and the Language Building was constructed on the site.

Early edition (1913) of the book Heidi written by Johanna Spyri. The cover of the book is covered in a teal blue fabric. The front cover has an oval design made up of yellow and teal flowers and leaves. Inside of the design is the title and the author's name. On the spine are more flower and leaf designs with the title, authors last name, and publisher's name. There is a black stripe above the publisher's name with white writing on it. On an interior page is a full page illustration of three characters from the book, Klara, Heidi, and Peter walking through a mountain pass.

In this letter, Birdie informs her kin of the goings-on in her community. The news includes: details about how they have survived the drought with their well and spring for the stock animals, a discussion about Minnie's visit and their preparation for Minnie's return to Georgia, a dialogue about Birdie's baby who likes to be in her buggy, updates on community news and the well-being of family and friends, a discussion about a boat trip Will took with the boosters, details about some dentistry work Birdie is going to get done, news about their chickens and milk cow surviving the drought, a discussion about the baby and how she wears short dresses now, details about having some Kodak pictures made of the baby, a dialogue about correspondences received including Linnet's postcard, an update about Will's position at Ewing's,and news about Will's aunt passing away. She closes the letter by noting that she hopes to hear from Mary Ann and the white family soon. The envelope is included with the letter.

She details how excited Frank was for the snow on Sunday and notes how he is preparing decoration for Christmas.
