Letter from Austin A. Yates to the Colonel commanding the 1st N. Y. Vet. Cavl. which certifies the following men as Privates in the 1st Company N. Y. Vet. Cavalry: James A. Wilkie, Theron King, Myron H. Densmore, Benjamin F. Carpenter, and John D. Humphrey. These men were certified as privates by Capt. Capt. S. M. Harmon and received bounties for their promotions. The bounties were: advanced pay in the sum of $13.00, a premium on the sum of $2.00, and a bounty in the sum of $60.00. Hamilton K. Redway is listed with the promoted soldier's signatures.

The stores that were listed and inspected were: twenty ponchos, fifteen shelter tents, fifteen canteens, and fifteen haversacks. With the listed items, this report also includes the amount of time these items were in use, by whom they where received, as well as the item's condition and disposition. The report is signed by both Capt. Hamilton K. Redway and Capt, J. C. Freman while they were stationed at Kelly's Creek in West Virginia. It is dated April 27, 1865.

Letter from Charles to his father regarding work left by the rebels. It also mentions that they now occupy Richmond, they captured their band. His regiment lost one man, taken prisoner. He will have to police as long as he is in the army. He then asks his father for a blanket and to write soon.

Circular No. 11. The complete list of equipment of the soldiers are: one blouse, one pair of trousers,two drawers, two shirts, two pairs of socks, two pairs of shoes, one woolen blanket, one piece of shelter tent. Uniform coats will be turned in as required by General Order No. 48.

Officers are reminded of the necessary of forwarding with such papers letters of transmittal and explanation in order that the same may have proper attention.

Receipt of supplies shipped to Capt. Hamilton K. Redway at his station in Kelly's Creek, West Virginia. Redway received twenty bales of hay for his cavalry's forage. A note written by Captain Farlin on the receipt states that no grain was on hand for this shipment and that he has telegraphed Madden to go buy oats for the cavalry. Redway received this shipment at his station in Kelly's Creek.

Redway received fifty six sacks of corn, thirty two sacks of oats, and fifty seven bales of hay for his cavalry's forage. Notations on the receipt state that additional stores of corn were available at Tompkins. He received this shipment at his station in Kelly's Creek.

Redway's Ordnance and Ordnance Stores return for the first quarter of 1865 have been examined and referred to the auditor.
