This article examines how archives were forced to rethink their modes of providing access to physical collections because of the coronavirus of 2019 (COVID-19). Whereas difficult copyright questions raised by reproducing items could previously be skirted by requiring researchers to work with materials in person, the long-term closure of reading rooms and decrease in long-distance travel mean that archives need a workflow for handling user digitization requests that is scalable and requires consulting only easily identifiable information and, assuming full reproduction is off the table, reproducing items in a collection under 17 U.S.C. § 108 or through a strategy of rapid risk assessment. There is a challenge in creating a policy that will work across different formats and genres of archival materials, so this article offers some suggestions for how to think about these parameters according to US copyright law and calls for a committee of experts to work out a model policy that could serve remote users of archival collections even after the COVID-19 crisis has passed.

This report summarizes an evaluation of the UNT Libraries' Mental Health collection to determine if the collection is adequately serving patron needs. It was determined that the collection was currently meeting patrons' needs, and some recommendations for future collection maintenance and enhancements for specific key areas were included.

Data management plan for the grant "Making Audio/Visual Digital Collections Content Accessible for All Texans." Project to improve audio/visual (A/V) content accessibility available through The Portal to Texas History at the University of North Texas Libraries. The project addresses the needs of Deaf and Blind users who often lack fundamental access for many A/V materials in digital repositories while also providing benefit to abled users and those with other special needs through efforts to transcribe, translate, describe, interpret, and chapter both research-oriented and primary-source A/V content.

This 3D dataset model contains the individual datasets necessary to print and assemble a miniature working printing press. The resulting press has a working area of about 2.35" X 1.7", stands 6.5" tall by 3.85" wide, and is 6" long. With minor liberties, this model is a miniature working version of a European style common press similar to those used during the hand-press era, in which a screw transmits pressure through the platen to create an even imprint onto an inked surface. Data management plan for the grant, "EAGER: Secure Research Impact Metric Data Exchange: Data Supply Chain and Vocabulary Development." This project aims to inform whether a national cyberinfrastructure is needed to support the exchange and processing of sensitive and proprietary usage and impact metrics generated by US-based research publishers and distributors. Specifically, this project will advance open science by: a) documenting the usage and impact data supply chain for article and data research outputs, to complement findings for books, and b) engaging research infrastructure stakeholders to crosswalk usage and impact related vocabularies across scholarship outputs and disciplines.
