Survey created by the UNT Library Council on Diversity and Inclusion (LCDI) exploring if rankism in the UNT Libraries contributes to experiences. It was created based on results from a previous survey, the UNT Libraries' Climate Survey, which identified feelings of belittlement or degradation in the UNT Libraries. The survey was open for responses between November 1, 2023 and November 15, 2023. Results are not included in this document.

Presentation examining the deployment of The Keeper App, developed at the University of North Texas (UNT) Libraries, to help students document their daily lives as members of the UNT campus community. Deployed one year before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, the Keeper App soon became a means for students and other members of the UNT community to share their experiences from isolation during the time of crisis.

Article presenting a curriculum mapping study of noncore course offerings in political science curricula by an early-career librarian. It combines syllabi study and curriculum mapping methods to analyze the language of student learning objectives (SLOs) from course syllabi and to integrate SLOs with threshold concepts from the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education and the AAC&U Information Literacy VALUE Rubric. The methods produce two sample sets: one of core concept representation and the other of additional observances for syllabi improvements. Results analyze the frequency and percentage distributions of threshold concepts in SLOs. The author outlines strategies for engaging faculty in information literacy and suggests how librarians and faculty might inform information literacy teaching in the department.

They consider how these projects were conceived, created, and implemented in the classroom and what the outcomes, benefits, and drawbacks might be.

Poster focuses on developing a conceptual framework to understand data literacy needs in community colleges. The authors propose a framework for studying data literacy by conceptualizing data literacy and explicating the core content and competencies associated with it. It was presented at the 2023 Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) conference held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This work is part of an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant.

This presentation focused on the background and workflows of adding oral histories to The Portal to Texas History. It was presented as part of the Oral History Forum Webinar Series.

Poster highlighting virtual outreach events to engage students during the COVID-19 pandemic. These events utilized Zoom’s video conferencing technology and aimed to be entertaining while also promoting the library’s virtual reference services.

This collection analysis was focused on the four languages which undergraduates and graduate degrees are offered, including literatures and cultures.

This article reviewed twelve years of circulation data related to loss and damage of video game equipment, specifically consoles, game controllers, and gaming peripherals such as steering wheels, virtual reality headsets, and joysticks in an academic library collection.

This article explains the immediate and long-term benefits of service to new librarians. It also covers finding and selecting service opportunities, serving effectively in those roles, and documenting service activities. This is the accepted manuscript version of the article.

This poster explores the process and resources used to create subject metadata for The Chronicles of Oklahoma collection in The Gateway to Oklahoma History. The Chronicles of Oklahoma is a regional publication from the Oklahoma Historical Society that has been published since 1921. The UNT Digital Library is digitizing the back issues and making them available to the public through the digital library, The Gateway to Oklahoma History. It was presented at the UNT Libraries' 2023 Student Snapshots Symposium held in Denton, Texas and at the 2023 Texas Conference on Digital Libraries (TCDL) held May 16-18, 2023 in Austin, Texas.

This poster highlighting the development of machine learning model to automate part of the process of digitizing and archiving documents from the Texas State Depository Program. This particular part of the process is the sorting of documents to facilitate metadata creation.
