This article examines the relationships between a movie's perceived artistic merit as ranked by critics, a movie's quality as ranked by viewers, a movie's gross box office take, and its release date.

Two datasets, each with 390,751 date samples from the UNT Libraries' digital collections. These samples were compiled for research regarding the Extended Date/Time Format (EDTF) standard. The first dataset contains a concatenated list of date values from the metadata records in The Portal to Texas History, the UNT Digital Library, and The Gateway to Oklahoma History. The "classified" dataset includes labels expressing whether each date is EDTF-valid and the level of conformance.

They assessed current needs based on course descriptions and research outputs, defined the scope of information needed based on this needs assessment, and evaluated the Libraries’ holdings in these subject areas against the usage, qualitative listings, and requests for materials from other libraries. Specific recommendations for collection development are provided based on the results of these analyses.
