This is a study to determine whether the colleges of Texas are preparing their students of industrial arts to teach effectively in the high schools of Texas. The objectives of this study are to draw conclusions as to whether or not the colleges of Texas are preparing their students of industrial arts to teach effectively in the modern high schools; to show the training of industrial arts teachers; and to determine to what extent industrial arts are offered in the high schools of Texas.

Based on the review of literature, it has been demonstrated that anxiety has some detrimental effects on the short-term memory functions of the college student. In order to improve the experimental methodology, the present study combined Type I and Type II studies of short-term memory as a function of anxiety. The two were combined so that the major criticisms in each study were controlled.

Using postulations formulated by Harlow, very few investigators have experimented with discriminative learning in relation to various levels of human mental abilities to the pattern of forming a set. The present study was designed to investigate the effects of different levels of mental abilities on the formation of these sets, using mental retardates, and analyzing the formation of these sets and the abilities of these retardates to shift dimension of cues by reversing the response conditions.
