This study was made to gather data and information to aid the Burleson Independent School District in initiating an industrial arts general shop program in the Pauline G. Hughes Middle School. The data and information were obtained from the Texas Education Agency, the Burleson Independent School District records, the vocational director, the assistant superintendent, a questionnaire, and the Brodhead-Garrett 1976-1977 Catalog. The majority of the general shop programs in the north Texas area conduct classes five days a week for fifty-five minutes a day and accommodate twenty-four students per class. Furthermore, the majority of the general shop programs offer three units of instruction per year and teach one unit of instruction each quarter.

This study proposes to show the progress made in the in-service education program of Johnson County and to determine the effectiveness of its newly adopted in-service program.

The purposes of this study are: (1) to determine the popularity of extra-curricular organizations existing in the school as a means of indicating the successful and the unsuccessful groups in the school, (2) to establish the relationships of certain factors to the popularity of the activities so that efforts may be made to improve less successful activities, (3) to discover the extent and the popularity of social activities provided by the city of Cleburne, Texas, for the high school students in order that administrators of the school may have more insight into the extent of the need of high school students for social activities sponsored by the school.

This study is for the purpose of making a critical analysis of the health program of the white elementary public schools of Cleburne, Texas with implications for other other cities of corresponding size. This analysis is to evaluate the effectiveness of such a health program in light of certain evaluative criteria. It is intended to call attention to the existing facilities for adequate health instruction, the need, if any, for more and better facilities and the need for teacher training in this field.

The purpose of this study is two-fold: (1) to determine the casual factors of delinquency which are the responsibility of the school, and (2) to discover possible procedures for combating delinquency, so far as it is immediately possible, in the Cleburne Public School System.

This problem is two-fold: first, to determine the relationships between the traditional school marks and the test scores made by the Cleburne High School students on the California Test of Mental Maturity as a means of estimating the academic achievement students probably will attain in particular school subjects; second, to determine whether or not such relationships are of sufficient significance that their use will reduce student failures in Cleburne High School.

The problem is to study the aims of the University Interscholastic League of Texas and evaluate them in the light of the aims of education as set up by authorities in the fields of education and to study the present method of conducting the League activities in Johnson County and evaluate the activities in the light of the aims of education and the data obtained from superintendents in the Conference B schools of Johnson County.
